Here in Canada, we call the sport with the oblong ball and quarterbacks and downs 'football'. The same as the Americans.
However, our game has some significant differences when compared to the American game. Our field is much larger, as are the balls. There are 12 men on the field for each team instead of 11. There are only 3 downs, there is no 2 minute warning but the clock does not keep running on a successful pass (only on running plays).
I think our game is much better. What do you prefer?

I used to watch Canadien football and would keep track of the season, but information is not readily available here in the US, it is worse then getting hockey info when the Flyers aren't playing.
I enjoyed watching the game played in Canada, and know it is not the exact same game that is played here in the US, but like the Arena football game, it is more exciting at times, and a lot higher scoring.
