I don't pay attention to F1 as much as NASCAR considering that their highlights are always on the news and on ESPN, but I like open-wheel racing a little more than NASCAR. I am definitely into F1 as far as the type of running they actually did. I used to watch sometimes when I used to live at home cause we had SPEED Channel, but that was when Juan Pablo Montoya was there. Other than that, I guess there really is no preference from me.

NASCAR.
NASCAR accumulates more fans in one of the smallest races than on of the biggest F1 races. MUCH better racing in NASCAR. They can hit eachother and bump as much as they want. F1 cars explode on impact. No beating and banging = BORING.
F1 cars may go faster but that soesn't mean better racing.
NASCAR is an all-American sport and That's what i hope it stays like. No racing in Europe or other countries.

definitely f1 :) the circuits are better, and it's more glamorous. can you believe that montoya actually left f1 for nascar? i wonder if he regrets his decision...

F1 is better, but they need more races... NASCAR has all the hype. I like them both, but as NASCAR is American, with the hype, it gets the better TV channels & time slots.
I like both. F1 for the skill of the racers & NASCAR for the soap opera appeal... Both for the speed. For me, if you organise a racing event and there are motors involved, I'm happy. Boat, cars, truck (including large ones), motorcycle etc...

I don't know much about nascar... In europe the perception is that nascar is that car race where the cars are running on oval tracks (correct me if I'm wrong)... and when you hear that it seems kind of boring.
Formula one seems closer and more interesting...:)

Although I started watching racing with open wheel races I now find that I enjoy NASCAR so much more. More passing, more bumping and with that comes more wrecks. What's nice is that a wreck doesn't necessarily take a car out of the race like it does in open wheel.
As for Montoya... please take him back. He's too impatient for NASCAR. ;-)
