Do you think the same cast will remain with the later Harry Potter movies?

I'm a die-hard fan of the Harry Potter movies, and as you know the next movie will be out soon, The Order of The Phoenix...those of us who are fans of the movies have literally seen the main characters/actors like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) grow up before our eyes...not only grew up literally, but have become more sophisticated in their acting skills...
My question is..do you think this cast will remain the same for the later movies? Would you be interested in seeing the movies if they--shudder shudder..change the cast? I mean to me, the movies just wouldn't be the same.

Well they already changer the actor that played Dumbledor, not that anyone seemed to notice! And i also heard rumours ages ago that the actress that plays Hermione is quitting (not sure when it was supposed to be) as she didn't want to be type cast or something. could just be a rumour though. I don't really see how they will be able to keep all the same child actors/actresses, since they are growing up in real life too quickly for the movies as the movies are being produced quite slowly. I don't think it would be the same without them though.

mmmm...just came up with this site that shows everyone's birthdays of the cast and crew of Harry Potter
http://www.veritaserum.com/info/birthdays.shtml
July 23- Daniel Radcliffe: Harry Potter (1989)--making him 18 soon
August 24- Rupert Grint: Ron Weasley (1988)--soon to be 19
April 15- Emma Watson: Hermione Granger (1990)--now 17
December 28- Maggie Smith: Professor McGonagal (1934)---thought I'd add her as she's one of the older of the cast..

It's good news indeed to hear that the kids will stick with the last few movies

That was Richard Harris who played in the first two movies, he was replaced by Michael Gambon

If they were to change the cast it would be very strange. I am sure that I would still give it a chanse but it would be strange for sure.
I also love Harry and his crew, i find it very charming and I look forward to the next movie =)

I think they will be the same actors. I think the movie makers realize that if they were to make a new cast for the new harry potter movies fans would be upset. They know people want the original cast so I think that's what they are going to do. Keep them.

i think the movie will not be the same without Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint & Hermione Granger. It would be weird seeing other person playing their parts unless they try to do a re-make from Harry Potter 1,2,3 & 4 with other casts. Btw I have read an e-book of Harry Potter 7 the deathly hollow and it's very good tho some people claims it fake but still I dunno because the real book hasn't been released yet LOL But it's very good e-book tho maybe suited for readers above age of 17.

Well if that e-book is suited for readers over 17 then it can't be legit...I don't think JK Rowling would want to lose her younger audience of her books--just doesn't sound right to me

Im like you pyewacket a die hard fan of Harry Potter and it would not be the same Harry potter movies if they change the cast after all Harry had to grow up so why change the cast because thy have grown up. I like the old cast and hope that it will be the same ones in the new movie if not I will still see it but I will because I will miss the old cast very much they are all very good actors.

I hope so, otherwise it just wont be the same, but they are facing problems, the cast is getting way to old to play children. We'll just have to wait and see.

A wait is see is right--I think the popularity of the movies would really plummet downward

Yes I believe they actually have already signed on to do the last two films. It wouldn't be the same without them.

She changed her mind. I can't remember where I read it but it was one of the respectable HP websites. They all three went ahead and signed one for the next two. I guess they might have sweetened the pot plus I'm sure she realized that there are only two left and if she's going to be type casted - she already would be after five films and two more won't a difference.

I really hope that they all stay the same.
As was mentioned earlier, the characters grow up through the books. It only makes sense that the actors playing them would also age. The books cover a seven year span, so I really don't think that it would be a big stretch to the imagination.
I agree that it wouldn't be the same with any other actors. The casting for these was perfect! They've only got two more movies to go....

To the best of my knowledge the three main characters have signed for the last two movies, so it will be the same harry ,ron, and hermione. The rest I don't know about. I hope they keep as many as possible it really makes the movies come together.

I can't help thinking how sad the cast will feel once that final scene is filmed and the director says cut for the very last time....I remember watching the behind the scene DVDs of Lord Of the Rings...and how the whole crew and including director Peter Jackson were all basket cases at the end of it--the cast and crew had become like family members...And think of just how long the cast of Harry Potter have been together!!

It wouldn't be the same to me, either, if they changed the cast. I hope they can keep them, as we are constantly being asked to suspend our judgement for everything else. They are always hving people in their twenties playing high schoolers and so forth, so I wold be happy to pretend they are all not too old for the parts if it meant keeping the same group.

I love the Books, I like the movies. I hope that the cast will stay the same of course, but yes I would watch it if they change the Actors or Actresses. Lets face it some of them must be getting to old for their roles soon. It would be a shame so.

I've only seen the first two Harry Potter movies and I loved them. I know I didn't take it all in and I'd love to watch them again....and again! What I like is the combination of fantasy and horror. The characters have been great...yes, very young actors and actresses but strong and interesting characters. These kids are really likeable.
Without these three (and Malfoy and Hagrid and a couple of others) the movies would not be the same. It would have to be a whole new set of different characters.

Ema Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Ratcliff have all sid in interviews that they're sticking with the movies to the end. I dunno about any of the others.
At this point I'm kinda like, "Eh.." 'cause I mean they pretty much butchered the Goblet of Fire (they took out more than half the book), then with this new movie..they didn't take out nearly as much like they did with the Goblet, but they still left out parts and changed a couple others -- I still like the Order of the Phoenix movie, but I was still pretty disappointed.
So if they the three main actors weren't there for the lat couple movies..it'd be just the icing on the cake for me. And I'd probbly watch the movies once..but I'd just lose intrest in the movies completely.
As long as they have Danny, Emma and Rupert..then I'll stick around, no matter how much the painfully leave out of the movies or change.

Actually, I do believe Emma Watson has stated that she is not doing any more Harry Potter movies. As far as I'm aware, she is no longer close to Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, and she's tired of being known as "That girl from Harry Potter."
If they don't manage to talk Emma into doing the remaining movies, I'll still watch them. It's not going to change the storyline in any way. The question is whether a new Actress as Hermione Granger can live up to the standards set by Emma Watson.

According to the wikipedia, they will be the same characters to the last movie. Check it out on Wikipedia.
