I work in a very flat organisation, not at all formal, so if my boss asked me to do something I didn't like I would tell him that I didn't want to do it. However I know that's not in every work place you can do that. Maybe you can get help from a co-worker.

DO IT... There are really times that they give us tasks that are new to us, of course that's part of learning. At first, u may be hesitant doing it because you don't know how. But eventually, you'll get used to it. Besides, they are our BOSSES and can't say no to them. It would be an A+ to you and to him if you were able to accomplish the task despite the fact that u don't actually know how to do it...Perhaps, when you were able to accomplish it, joke your boss and say that you don't actually know how to do it or that you don't like doing it...That way, he/she will congratulae you for it.

One's boss is always right!
If your boss has given you some work, she did so with the confidence that you can do this job. Then why are you thinking that you cannot do it? If you think like this then it is a negative thinking and you would find it hard to accomplish it even if you could do it. If you need clarification, politely ask her and she would tell you. But you must show that you are intersted in putting good efforts to accomplish the job.
You could talk to your boss and say something like, "I am happy that you have given me a challenging job and I am going to put my best efforts to complete it but I need your guidance to accomplish it." I am sure she would guide and help. Be confident.

we should at least try to do it and give it our best shot. we wouldn't know how good or bad we are in completing a task if we don't at least attempt to do it.
at the end of the day, the boss is still the boss. a task given by the boss when it is within policy guidelines and work related... must be done. period. :)
reserve the complaints for later, when we have done the task.
if we don't know how to do it, tell your boss about it or find someone who knows and can help you with it. goodluck! :)

You don't have a choice but to do the task according what your boss ask. And if it's really difficult for you to do that, you can ask help with your co-employee take this as a challenge in your career, do what ever you think is best and right , do some research, don't loose hope be positive.
