What qualities do you find most important in choosing your friends?

I find love, understanding, good listening ear, respect of differences.. as some of the main qualities I look for in my friends. How supportive are they, do they treat me kindly with respect, and if they do not are they doing it to be malicious on purpose? If so they lose the friendship real fast. What qualities do you look for in friendship relationships?

Hello,dnatureofdtrain,when i am chossing my friends,i hope they can listen to me when i have problems,they may not need to give me suggestion everytime,i will be happy if they take time to share with me. They should be the kind of people who i can trust and rely on,and they should not be selfish and rude,they should be nice to everyone.
I have three best friends who can meet the criteria above completely.I am happy to be their best friends:)
