Certain people are more susceptible to sunburn than others because of age, skin type or medications they are taking.
I found this list of factors that increase a person's risk of sunburn and hope members of mylot will read and take care this summer while enjoying the sun.
Did you know that:
**Babies and children have skin that is more sensitive than adult skin, so they are more likely to be badly sunburned if unprotected.
**People with fair skin are more likely to get sunburn than people with darker skin, although ALL skin types and complexions can burn.
**Certain medications, including some antibiotics and birth control pills, can increase the likelihood of a sunburn.
**Using a tanning bed can cause dangerous sunburns.
**Being outside during the sun's peak hours--10 am - 4 pm and bein on reflective sand or water can increase one's risk of severe sunburn.
These helpful tips come from the U.S. National Library of Medicine and are not something that I have made up.
Are you aware of these facts or is there something here that you didn't realize?

I have been silly in the sun with my skin. In Greece when I was 14 I got my shoudlers badly burnt. In Tunisia I met a man using cooking oil to get a tan! In St Lucia in the Caribbean the sun was very strong. I was wearing high factor sun cream. But one woman was bright red all over. Every day she went back on the beach sun bathing. Coming back from that holiday I talked to an English man that had skin cancer. This shocked me.
I didn't take note of the dangers of the sun until I lived in Australia. I met a fair number of people with skin cancer. I began to wear a hat and cover up my skin at mid day when the sun was very strong. Yes, in the tropics being in the water can mean getting sunburnt. People that go snorkelling should try wearing a T'shirt to prevent their back gettting burnt.

That's very informative, but apart from all those tips ,here is one more effective activity to prevent one self from any sort of sunburn or any other skin disease. That is deep breathing exercise and as oxygenated blood goes in our blood vessles and tissues during breathing deep in morning fresh air, lusture of our skin remains intact and immunity increases.
