It is strange how the older we get the older we consider old to be. My dad will be 80 this year and he doesn't seem old to me. Some of my aunts and uncles seem old but my dad still refers to others as old farts and not himself! I can remember thinking when I was a teen that I would be old in the year 2000! Mentally I sure don't feel over 19 but physically I can see the changes. I now consider people in their 90's as being old. It is funny because now when I read the obituaries I think people who die in their 70's as dying young.

haha..I know..it is funny when you sometimes run into people that you went to school with and think..gosh..they are getting to be an "old fart"..but then think of yourself as still young..:)

When I was 10 someone who was 16 was considered old! Then in my teens anyone who was over 25 was old. When I reached 20 I thought those over 35 were old. Now I'm 39, I feel people over 65 are old - i.e. those who've reached a pensionable age. I guess if I live to be that age I'll be thinking that those in their 80s are old, it's really all relative, I know people in their 50s and 60s who still go to parties and act younger than me. That's good for them! I only wish I had their energy now LOL!

I agree the definition of old changes as we get older. I thought that 30 was also old i am not there yet but very close and i certainly dont feel old nor think i am old. And i too think now that old may be better defined as 75 or older but if a 75 year old replied to this he/she might feel that they are not old that old is more like 100. If i make it 75 i hope i still feel young enough to think old is older then what age i am.

Well, "old" people are seeming younger to me all the time now, if that makes any sens. Like so many others I thought 20 was old when I was a child, I thought 35-40 was old when I was a teen/young adult, but now I think old is somewhere in the 70's-80's.
Of course, age is relative. There's people who are old at 25, and others who are young at 80. I guess it depends on lifestyle, attitude, and outlook in general.
All I can say is, I hope to be a young 85!
