I stayed abroad over 20 years and I was immersed in the francophone culture which got me to learning French. It was a great experience as I was much younger as it permitted me to communicate with the locals better. I was more accepted and at ease. What about you?

I would like to learn any foreign language. Just for the experience and knowledge alone. I heard there are som any differnt dialects of chinese, so that would be challenging but fun. Maybe japanese. Definately Samoan. I have family that speak samoan and I would like to comminicate better. I only know a few words. And maybe something really rare, some dialect from Africa maybe.

Why not try Tagalog, our language here in the Philippines? Its is a very easy language to learn so it will not take you long until you can converse with anybody when you visit the Philippines.

I would like to learn American Sign Language. I have taken classes on it but I do not remember much of it. If I could take them over again, I would pay more attention and practice like I should have.

I would love to learn french because their language sounds really nice especially the pronunciation, which I believe would be difficult for me. I would also like to learn Spanish since some spanish words are already similar with our language, Filipino, due to our country's history with the Spaniards.

French is indeed a very beautiful language and you are right, Spanish would be a good second option to learn because it is latin based. You should try French first because knowing how to speak French makes you feel cultured as you are required to learn about the French cutural heritage. BON CHANCE!
