do you buy from people who sell pirate dvds? be honest now! I'll admit that my fiance and I do this all the time. Pirated DVD's only cost $20 each and the copies are really clear and widescreen. We get them when there are new movies in the cinemas and when we dont have enough to go in and watch we go to our friend who sells dvds lol. Original copied would cost over $100 and also new movies take a long time to get here.
How about you, do you buy pirated movies??

$20 is expensive? I meant that as Hong Kong Dollars so if converted that's only like $2USD or 8 Malaysia Ringgits

We did not buy any pirated dvd tapes here in America. When we went to a store we will see to it its real. When i was in the Philippines i always buy pirated dvd`s because it is so cheap and you can see it everywhere. But its not all the time clear. I dont know why in the Philippines pirated dvd`s are ok to be sold everywhere, if that is here in USA you will be prisoned and pay some big money to the government.

I dont know much about what they can sell or what they can't sell in the Philippines but here in hong kong it's also not legal to sell pirate DVD's but then again not everyone follows the rules and people here like getting things cheaper. Why buy the original when you can get a pirated copy thats almost exactly the same just cut back the extra feautures from an original DVD.
My cousin earns more than $2,000HKD a WEEK selling pirated DVD's lol. Very risky job but the income is sweet

Honestly...
... YESSSS.
About 99% of my entire dvd and vcd collection are pirated. :) Well the main reason is I don't have enough money to buy original ones. And besides all of my pirated dvds and vcds are almost identical to the original ones in terms of audio and video quality. Some of the dvds have complete special features like that of the original. It's just harder to find them but it's worth it. And I have to say I bought my first pirated dvd about 4 yrs ago and up to now it's still working like I bought it yesterday. I just watch it again last week.
Like I said money is the main reason so if I am rich enough or if the prices go down :0 I most definitely go for the original ones. For now I'll just settle with what I can have.

I hardly buy any DVD's, I don't have any problems with pirates DVD's though. I don't blame anyone buying pirate's dvd's as the original will cots lotsa money. Its simply....give $20 for dvd and $80 for your family or somebody else get $100 richer. I know my answer.
But honestly, I hardly have time to watch dvd's since the tv's program has more interesting movies/series to watch. My daughter is the only one that has some dvd's collections on children movies and that cost nothing. Never bother her if it is a new release one or old one....as long as she likes the character.

I guess I'm also quite guilty of this because the original DVD is also expensive in our country while a pirated DVD is only like P70 (that's like $1.50 if converted), and a lot has 12 movies in 1 DVD. But if I really like the movie and would like to watch it over and over again, I buy the original DVD or VCD because the quality is definitely better and would last longer than the pirated ones.
