If the bank deposited $500 by accident in your account would you tell them?

There is no way l would ever keep the money,l would have to say something to the bank. l would feel to guilty to spend any of it. I wouldn't want my money to go into someones bank account by accident,so I would have to point out to the bank that there is sloppy handling of money going on at the bank.

I'm not sure. I'd probably tell them because I would be concerned that I was at an unsafe bank. How do you know they wouldn't all of a sudden do other things to your bank account that wouldn't be in your favor? Even though it would be cool kind of, I wouldn't trust that bank anymore.

i will keep it in my account never to use, and i know bank will be contact about this happen, in my life 3 times i get unknown money in my account, one is huge money about $2100. when i going to ATM i see this money on ATM screen. shock? nope...i know this not for long... and then Customer Service ring my cellphone and ask about mistake and they need me to go bank or if i dont have free time they will come to my office only for explain and send it back that money to correct account.

I had 800.00 deposited into my account one time. I was struggling financially and was so tempted to keep it but figured as soon as the bank realized their mistake they would just take it back and if I had spent it I would be in big trouble. So I called and reported it. They told me it wasn't a mistake, they give a dividend to the customers each year. The money was mine to keep.

i would keep it, if they ever find out you can not go to jail or be fined since it was their mistake and you did not steal anything. it would be like if you were unaware of the situation.

I think i will not tell the bank initiatively.Until the bank found that and request me give back the money.I just consider that it is not mistake.If the bank don't find out the mistake,haw haw,the money become to me,it is a unexpected wealth.
