Who would you trade Kobe for?

Yesterday everyone got scared, because of a false report about Kobe possibly seeking a trade. It alarmed many, because if that were ever to occur, it would be a sad loss to Los Angeles. If you consider his high value, who do you think L.A. Could get by trading him?
I personally think that The Bulls would be a nice team to deal him to. Maybe get two solid players like Gordon and Deng. Also squeeze from them the #9 lottery pick.

Kobe Bryant is almost impossible to trade. The Lakers would need more than just a player of equal value. but also equal star power. No one goes to Laker games to see Lamar Odom or Smush Parker. If the Lakers want to make a run at the NBA championship they have to build around Kobe. Dealing Andrew Bynum when he still had some trade value (early in the season) would have been a nice move. If Kobe had demanded a trade and I had to make a deal, I'd try to get Kevin Garnett and the Wolves first pick for him. I'm still not sure that the Lakers would be getting full value, but Garnett would fill the seats and is someone you could definately build around.

I agree that it would be wise choice to receive a marquee player, in any trade. Not only for those attending the games, but frankly for myself. If I'm going to watch the lakers, I want some entertainment value there. :)
With trading Kevin Garnett, I would agree that it would be a nice trade and plus if we get their lottery pick, likely it would be a high one, because with Kobe they would not improve. But I think that's where the dilema lies, Kobe won't remove his trade clause to go to Minnesota, because he would end up in a suckier situation.

You're right, Kobe would never agree to go to MN. Not really a high profile city. However, what do you think about Phoenix? LA could get Marion, a first rounder this year and Atlanta's unprotected first rounder next year. The Suns are loaded with talent and don't really have the cap space to add first rounders who will sit the bench so the draft picks won't help them nearly as much as Bryant. The Lakers would get immediate help with Marion plus a number one this year (a deep draft that could give them a contributor right away), and a potential top 10 (maybe even top 5) pick next year. That could add a star quality player that LA fans demand. The only downside as I see it is you're improving a team from your own division which could come back to haunt you.

NOBODY! There is no way that you can get the value of Kobe Bryant in return in any deal, no matter how many players that come to LA. The closest trades, in terms of talent that should come to LA if a trade happens is Gibert Arenas or LeBron James. Neither of which will be moving any time soon, well, maybe Agent 0, but that is not for another year or so.

I agree that you cannot receive fair value for Kobe Bryant. Yet, what would possibly concern the Lakers organization is the fact that if they dont trade him, and he does not become happy once more with them, he may just walk away as a free agent. So the perception could be that if he decides to part ways with the lakers, that they may want to receive a group of young propects for him... instead of just the new state of having a great amount of salary freed up.

I think if kobe will go to the bulls it's not enough because they don't have a solid big man in terms of scoring but there are many talented players in bulls like gordon and deng. for me, kobe will fit in utah or houston and maybe in phoenix. what is your reaction in houston trying to get rashard lewis , bonzi wells and steve francis?
for you, which team will be the champion this year? what team?

Personally I do love the potentials of Deng and Gordon from Chicago. I think Deng is very underated and Gordon could bust out if he had the opportunity to be a starter. Much like what happened with Caron Butler when he was traded from the lakers to the wizards. Once he got an opportunity to play a lot, he was able to bloom into the high caliber player that he is today.
Even with all that said, I think it would still be a tuff duty to trade Bryant for that Chicago duo.
When it comes to trading him to houston and utha, it seems to me, that those teams are finally finding chemistry with their players, and I doubt that they would want to disrupt that.
When it comes to this years finals, I'm rooting for Utha and Cleveland, even if I don't have full confidence in them actually making it.
Most likely TheSpurs will take away the Larry O'Brian trophy this year.
