It means how many discussions you responded, now yours 18. It does not effect your earnings. Earnings are based on quality posts. The more you respond the number will increase and after 100th post you will be given a rating star as you see mine. Then you can see how popular you are in mylot. This rating surely relates to your earning somehow though it is not clear to me also.
