Cockfighting should be banned everywhere

In my country (Philippines), cockfighting has been a part of our culture. They would usually have two rooster fight each other clawing each other with their sharp talons to the death and bet on whoever wins. The loosing rooster usually dies while the winner gets to live to fight until some other rooster kills him. There's even a tournament here which is broadcasted on national tv and loaded with lots of commercials with those medications to make your rooster a better killer. The sad thing is that the government did do something about it and banned cockfighting on the streets but allowed it only in certain "tournament" areas. And to make matters worse a lot of rich and powerful figures actually owns breeding farms for cockfighters. Is it just me or do you guys think cockfighting ("sabong") should be banned completely?
