What are some of your fears?

I would like to start a discussion on what are people afraid of or their fears/phobias in life. Most common fears are heights, death, spiders, falls, drowning, and etc. What I am mostly afraid of is bugs/spiders. I know their small and all but I just freak out when I see it. Just the thought of it, gets me creeped out. So I ask, what are some of your fears/phobias or things your afraid of in life?

Keep tryign and don't give up. People overcome thier fears in time as long as they keep trying to seek ways to overcome it.

As for loved ones, I can realte. As for heights, did you try overcoming your fears? When was the first time you noticed you were scared of heights?

I'm terrified of most bugs and spiders. The palms of my hands will get sweaty and my heart starts racing. I start to get really antsy and bug out (no pun intended) when they are around. I also have a weird fear of knives. I'm always afraid i'm going to cut myself if i'm peeling something with a knife. I will usually make someone peel fruits and veggies for me if someone is around.

I get the same exact feeling when I see bugs and spiders. You will hear my loud mouth if I see one. lol/ As for knives, that is interesting. Since you said your afraid of cutting yourself with a knife, do you have a tendancy to be clumsly at times. Because people who tend to be clumsly or bump into things are most likely to have fears of cutting something with a knife.

Yes, i'm very clumsy. LOL. I also put a knife through my hand when I was in 4th grade and the memory stuck with my so i'm afraid of doing it again even though i'm older and have more sense now.

Did you end up getting a scar from it? I don't blame you for being cautious when getting near a knife. That experience must of been tramaztizing.

I have a fear of falling. Not if I am enclosed by walls or like in an airplane but climing up steep hills and looking down...or anything high were you aren't enclosed. I fell out of a tree when I was young and that was scary. Then I was pushed out of a haymow and landed with a pitch fork going through my foot. So I guess that is where it came from. Besides that there is only one other fear I have and that would be the fear that one of my children would die before me. I couldn't get over losing a child.

You had some bad experiences with falling and things falling on you. Glad to hear that your fine. However, in life there will always be good things and bad things that will occcur to us in one time or another. I just think of this when things get bad in life,"God only gives you things he knows you can handle." The more things you go and overcome in life, the more stronger an individual grows. What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. Don't let those past experiences prevent you from fearing from falling. I know it may be difficult to overcome based on your past experience. As for your children, I don't have a child yet, but I can't get over losing a child as well.

I would say I am afraid of committment but to actually type that out.. I dunno... I have to think about it.. um.. yeah.. maybe sometime in the future.. I could possibly... but then again I mean if I don't do it you won't know my fear.. but on the other hand if I DO do it, i'd know it's ok to commit and get over my fear of committing!
Seriously though my biggest fear is failing to protect those I love. I committ to things of worth often, and for the long haul :)

One of the things that I am afraid of is snakes because I was almost bit by one when I was 9. I don't like big spiders either.
