I have a phobia. It is a fear of Spiders. I can't stand their sight. I hate those creatures, and get goosebumps all over my body, when I see one. I scream very loud on seeing a spider, and when I was a kid, I cried a lot. But I was never attacked by one. still I am scared of it.

We all know that dogs should be respected but an undue fear of dogs can really get in the way. I developed this fear of dogs, also known as 'cynophobia' when I was still young. I encountered a 'police dog' on my way home from school and was running around the street barking. My first reaction was to run and I really did run as fast as I could and was almost bitten if not for my neighbor's helping hand. Since then that experience stuck up my mind and made me to hate all kinds of dogs. This explains why I don't raise and own any dogs at home and have no plans of getting one in the future.

For some inexplicably strange reason, I'm afraid of a lizard. I don't know if one could exactly call it a phobia, though.
I feel that this fear is rooted in my childhood experience, wherein I inadvertently stepped on a lizard, which crawled into my slippers.
I really felt how oddly cold it was, and that left an indelible mark in my young mind, which could probably account for my fear of such creature up to now.
However, I do hope that my fear would soon go away. I would perhaps try some hypnosis, since there are some studies suggesting that it works in defeating phobias.
