I'm currently reading "The Mermaid Chair" by Sue Monk Kidd. I picked it up at the library because I had read her book "The Secret Life of Bees" and loved it.
"The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffegger was fantastic. I also just read "The Alchemist" by Paulo Cheolo and it was amazing.

The most recent new book I read was 'Be With You' by Takuji Ichikawa. 'Be With You' is the English title and the original title is 'Ima, Ai Ni Yukimasu'. It's a beautiful story about a young man who meets the ghost of his wife and tells the story of them falling in love. My friend let me borrow it, telling me I should read it and I'm very glad he did. It's an easy read but it's so wonderful and anyone who reads it will probably be in tears at one point.
I highly recommend this book to anyone!

One of my favorite authors is Dean Koontz. He has a new book that is out today. It is called "The Good Guy". I can hardly wait to get it and read it. His last book was "The Husband" and it was really good. "The Husband" is now out in paperback. Dean Koontz rights suspense novels with a positive outlook.

I highly recommend "The Ruins of California", by Martha Sherrill, published this year. It has interesting, smart characters and wonderfully evocative descriptions of locations in and around LA, San Francisco and Hawaii. It's a coming of age, memoir-like story, of girl from a family whose surname is Ruin (so not about actual ruins). Check it out!
