Who does the cleaning in your household?

My husband and I share it. He likes to clean on the weekends while I grocery shop. Today, we both tackled the entire apartment and I am afraid to even make a mess now. LOL My ex husband never lifted a finger so when I met Dave who loves a clean house, I was EXCITED. I don't work outside the house so sometimes I feel that he shouldn't have to clean at all and I feel guilty that I make him sometimes. He MUST do the kitty litter. I take care of the animals every day while he is at work. All I ask is that he do the garbage and kitty litter. Most of the time, he does more.
So, is there only one person in your household that does the cleaning? Do you share? Do you have kids to help you that they can do their chores?
Am I the only nut that wants my husband to help me clean?

Well count yourself very blessed in life that you have a hubby that is really willing to pitch in---I live alone now so I get the honors of doing everything...gee...if I could just train my two cats to do some cleaning, that would be great--LOL

LOL .. IF you could train your cats, then I would be hiring you to come here and train all my animals as well. Hmmm this may be a new thing you could market. LOL Yes, I guess I am very blessed to have him. Somedays I would argue that statement though. LOL Thanks for responding.

I do all of the cleaning in the house only because I don't trust anyone (especially my boyfriend) to do it right. I will be the first to admit that I am OCD when it comes to cleaning. One hint of dirt or dust and I freak out. His mother tells me all the time that he should help but he will take the garbage out when I ask him to. I enjoy the cleaning so why not be the only one who does it...right?

I do the cleaning in my house, with, sometimes, the help of my children. I do make my boys do their bedroom themselves (right down to the vacuuming) but as for the rest of the house, it is pretty much all mine. I don't work outside the home but I do wish that I had some help sometimes. I would like for my husband to spend one day in my shoes (preferably laundry day, LOL) so that he can see what all I do in the house and have a greater appreciation. Mostly he acts like I spend the day playing with the kids. I wish we had a little bit of a split on the chores, then I might have a little time to myself to read a book or something instead of cleaning from morning to night. LOL

LOL Yeah, if only men could live one day in our shoes. Now granted, I don't have kids so it wouldn't be as beneficial as with your husband spending a day in your shoes. I do have 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 birds to take care of on a daily basis along with cleaning, my candle biz, cooking, dishes, laundry , etc... UGH!!!

Sounds like you still have A LOT to do that he could benefit from doing. LOL. I do so much more than just the cooking and cleaning too. I have a craft business and have to prepare for craft shows (I make beaded jewelry, dream catchers, and clothes) all the time plus I am studying for the bar exam which is in July. See, we do so much at home and our significant others do not understand or comprehend what all we do. I propose a "trade places with your significant other day" Where they have to do what we do and we have to do what they do....nah! That's a bad idea, I don't want to go to the lab and do my husband's job. LOL

I do the majority of our house cleaning. I stay home too. I do think he should help out, even if it's only putting away the stuff he gets out and taking out the trash regularly (it's overflowing as I type this). I don't think I should have to clean up after a grown man, and I seldom do. As for other cleaning, he'll load and unload the dishwasher on occasion. It's nice that he helps, I even got him to clean the bathroom this weekend. However, I usually have to fix what he's done. At least fixing is sometimes a little faster than doing it all from scratch (most of the time).

Ugh! We all hate cleaning. The 2 kids that are still at home each have to clean one bathroom. They each do their own laundry (mostly their choice) and my husband does he (because he doesn't like the way I do it). I do almost all the cooking (except grilling), I wash all the dishes and if there's any vacuuming, dusting or mopping to do, it's mine so the house stays pretty dusty. I hate dusting. We kind of share critter duty. My daughter and I do horses, both kids are supposed to share the dog duty and I let little dogs in and out.

Wow, you have lots to do. I hate dusting as well. I am actually allergic to dust so I am darned if I do and darned if I don't. I actually will wear a mask when I am dusting and it has helped. Thanks for sharing. I wish I owned a horse or two.

lucky you, so your husband helps you to clean up, i usually alone dust my home, sometimes my mother-in-law might help , usually the corners i dont touch, but however most of the times i alone have to manage it, my husband really doesnt helps me, but i sometimes ask him to help me change the table cloth of our computer table, thats the only help he provides me.

When my mom was living with me, she was the one who cleaned everything. But she went to somewhere for a few months. So whenever she is away, I am the only person left who do the cleaning and I must admit that I hate housework *laughs*, especially after a tiring day at work. I usually wait till the weekend to do it and for the weekdays, I just don't bother because I just come home and sleep! Now I am amazed by how much hard work one has to do to keep the house totally clean!

I have always done the majority of the cleaning in the house. My wife rarely did any of it. I found that she really took advantage of that and would just leave everything lying around because she knew I would clean it up.
cheers,

Until I got pregnant awhile back, I was the official kitty litter cleaner. It was either that, or wait till the once a month that my husband would do it. And, that was stinky business!
Now, that I have a little kid, he's still supposed to do it, but doesn't!
And, I don't either. So, once in a while he goes in and does the entire job or throws out the box.
I feel sorry for my cats.
I'm a stay at home mom, too, and do feel guilty about asking him to do lots of housework.
I feel like he could do a really good job cleaning our house or at his paying job.
And, we need the money more than we need a clean house.
So, I do most of the daily housework and picking up mess.
But, he does do all of our grocery shopping. And, that saves me lots of time.

Wow.. You at least scoop the kitty litter right? That can lead to cats getting sick if it's no change often. Especially with more than 1 cat. If my husband doesn't do it every week, then I will cave in and do it because I love my cats that much.

Consider yourself lucky that your husband who helps you do housework without asking.I feel I would have to make a list or tell my husband to do it before he would. So I would rather do it than wait one day later or 2 hours later for my husband to get it done.He doese help out sometimes when I ask him too but he says he would rather me make a list telling him what to do.My dad is a cleanaholic, ect. He doese stuff without having to be asked.SO I guess I get some of that form him of getting stuff done.I am not saying that some stuff cannot be put off for another day but their are times things need to be done.

I do all the cleaning at our house. I have my kids pick up their toys and clothes sometimes, but other than that I am lucky if my husband puts his dirty dishes in the kitchen sink!! I really don't mind though, I love staying at home with my kids and cleaning is kinda fun for me...well except cleaning the bathrooms.
