How do you add a friend in mylot?

how do you pick your friends here in mylot?
are you a selective kind of person, if ever someone add you as a friend do you check his profile?
or do you pick friends and add them to your friend list like your parents, real friends, relatives, or you just add someone so they can see the notification if they response to you or make a new topic?

I will not decline anyone as a friend if they ask to be added. I have been adding people to my friends list when I respond to a new members discussion, but I do normally check the profile for age and location more than anything. Although I have checked profile first and forgot to add them as a friend afterwards but they always seem to find their way back to me. LOL

I'm not fond of requesting friends since the first time I did it I think was denied. :( So I just accept the folks that add me. And I just accept them, usually they're people whose topics I reply in, so they if add and I accept without looking at profiles. I don't see the point of checking profiles anyway, no harm in having a lot friends! :)

I guess that's true, there's thorns in every flower after all. Thankfully all my flowers have been thornless though! Hehe.

I have 2 ways I pick to add friends.
1st is when I see a post on a topic that is extremely interesting to me.
2nd is when someone invites me. Ok maybe not quite that easy, I look at their profile and some of their posts and try to find why they invited me. I will see if they have made posts that are radically opposed to my beliefs or have similar ideals. From there I usually accept but it's not 100%.
