Good question , it would be nice to hear what guys like to recieve as gifts . I am always stuck buying the same thing every year because I am not sure what to get . Cologne , clothes , socks , chocolates , jelellry , tools etc . but you can only buy so much of that and then you really run out of idea's on what to get for them .
Woman are so much easier to buy for just because we like almost anything but with guys it always seems so hard to shop for and they are never that good at saying what they really want .

When I need a "gentleman's gift" I like to give a guy something like an engraved pen set, or an engraved flask, or something I ted to give people more elegent gifts, for some reason. Those pens and flasks are great. I give them to women too! ;-)

Thank you. I'm glad you like my idea. I don't know a lot of macho guys, but I know plenty of gentlemen, and they love stuff like that!! There's this wonderful store here in guelph that does this stuff for me. I get free engraving on some things, because I've given them so much business, both with my stuff, and by reccomending them to others.

I am with you on the classy gifts. A monagrammed pen, business card holder, personalized stationery never go out of style.
Or to go even more old school--how about throwing in a pocket watch, a tweed suit, and a leather bound edition of the complete works of Milton? :) Well maybe not in this century, but I can dream.

hmmm, I think you can give dry-fit shirts or something that he can use (shorts, shoes for workout). Or, you can also give him vitamins. haha! I'm on the practical side so I would give really useful gifts. That way, I gave him a gift and saved him money. hahaha! =)

It's funny--if you go to my profile and see my latest discussion topic, I was looking for gift ideas for father's day. lol.
Why are guys so hard to shop for? Anyway, if it were a boyfriend or husband I would still defer to danishcanadian and go with the classy gifts. I do like the idea of the personalized pen--it's simple, but classy, special, but not in a overly mushy way, and will last for a long time.

hm.. recently ive just bought my boyfriend a converse sling bag.. i guess he'll love it.. guys need bag so that they can put in their wallet inside the bag and it will decrease the possibility for them to lose their wallet.. as wallet is so easy to slip out of their pockets... ;p my boyfriend lost his wallet twice..! hmm.. so thats why im taking this precaution.. hehe

i got this idea while i was working in saudi arabia decades ago. i was not in to perfume and other fragrances so much until i came to this place where men were smelling all sorts of scents. some smell pleasant while others smell obnoxious. besides, the prices of perfumes in saudi arabia are very cheap. so when i had my final exit, i bought 5 bottles of perfume of two types, one is PACO RABANNE and the one is ETERNITY for men.
Until now my partner gives me this present on my birthdays.
