Do we really need youngsters?? From worldcup till now the match winners for india are Sourav Ganguly, Sachim Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Zahir Khan. The names are of those who are in there thirties. Without these old players India is like "Life Without Water"So where the contribution of youngsters. The youngsters play well in domestic cricket, but when it comes to international arena they are no better than Handicappeds. Can they really help India to win in future! What do you think?

i am not convinced by the idea of neglecting young talents.after all, every one is entered as a newcomer and after gaining experience ,they emerge as the big ones .but our team is crowded with a bench of aged ones and they are hiondering the entrance of new talents.the impact can be read out from the world cup.what weneed is to bud up these myoung talents and to give them more chances rather than standing for the seniors...

The bad politics of BCCI is responsible for such a worst condition of indian cricket. They know only cash. But helping to the youngsters by BCCI is a dream come true. Untill it becomes reality, we have to rely on old players.

Well in the one dayers in bangla tour gautam gambhir scored a ton , dinesh kartik scored runs and he scored a ton is test matches, then piyush chawla bolwed beautifully and got some wickets. Then sreesanth was injured and can bowl quite well. Pathan and bhajji aren't old either then there is suresh raina who wisdens' considers one of top 10 promising crciketers of the future. So there is no dearth of talented younsters who with time and exposure and right guidnace and grooming nand can surely deliver over a period of time. There was a period when kapil dev, sunil gavaskar retired and people who would carry on the legacy but sachin, kumble and others have not done quite bad either. So is the case with each phase when some cricketers retire and some others take their place. We need to have a right blend of youth and experience in the indian team. cheers.:)

What u put up is absolutely correct. I completely agree with you. But dont forget the tons of Rahul Darvid, Sachin Tendulkar and the wicket hauls of Kumble and Zahir Khan!! We should have a proper blend of both seniors and juniors. The basic thing is to have proper professional adminstrator in BCCI to do the blend and not compromise on the quality of cricket and do mean politics. Lets Hope for better.

the youngsters can lift the fielding standards and inspire the senior players to do so

Yes I think so. Youngesters can certainly can help the Indian team. India got lots of talent like Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Gautam Gambir, and lots of others. The only think is that they should be providing opportunities. India is going to play seven ODI against England, plus three against South Africa, one against England, one against Scotland, one against Pakistan so total around 13-14 ODIs. I think seniors should be rotated and the youngsters should be given chances otherwise more injuries will come to seniors and most of them will burn out after the England series.

They need oppurtinities, good training and a helping hand to groom them properly, as they are the future of indian cricket. One thing one shouldnt forget is the experience of senior players which comes as a helping hand in times of distress.

After all today's youngsters are the veterans of tomorrow. They are talented no doubt. They should be given more chances to prove their mettle.
