Which threads do you respond to? And how do you choose?

There are so many discussion threads on myLot that it's hard to know where to begin. How do you decide? Do you just check the new discussion section? today's top discussions? or do you go to your interests and pick from there? Do you have a system? Or is it whatever catches your whim?
When I sign onto mylot, I try to be systematic. First I go to threads that I've started and reply to a few of my responses. Then I go to topics that my friends have started--I make a point to help my friends and to respond to their threads as much as I can. I also like to help the people who respond to my threads by returning the favor.
Then, I just go to the discussions from my interests and I chill out.
But no matter how you approach posting, there's always something to discuss on mylot.

I basically use the same system as you. I do however avoid discussions that are strictly about making money. I use mylot as a way to learn what other people are thinking and feeling about things.

I don't completely avoid the money-making threads. Sometimes they can be good resources of information. However, I totally see where you're coming from. I don't like it when people ONLY post about money making topics or when people only use mylot for the cash incentive. By doing that you miss out on some good discussions. I learn a lot from this community just by meeting people from all over the world. Everyone has a unique perspective to offer.

Whatever interests me I will respond to. If it is a question I have seen tons of times I skip it. I search for discussions all over the place. One time I go under new, then recent, then I go to my friends discussions. i switch it around all the time

Well, a lot of it depends on the amount of time that I have to be online. If I have a lot of time that I can devote here, a lot of times I go to some of the discussions that I have started and then respond back to some of them, and then I go to where I am most interested in responding too.
Maybe that will be one of my Interests, or just sometimes the New discussions just started, or my friends, or referrals. A lot of times I feel it is quite important going to my referrals New discussions and answering those as I can as that usually will end up helping my earnings on here as well.

I have a look at the thread and if it appeals to me I go ahead and post. At present I am not into starting threads, so I am tuned to responding to quite a few topics. I just love to post generally with a passion for sports topics.

I am like you I always try to respond to my friends discussions first. There are a few subjects that I don't respond to discussions about because I don't feel the need to discuss such things here. I will just skip over those discussions. I then look for discussions that interest me and I feel that I maybe able to add a different outlook to.

Yeah, like you I only respond if I feel like I have something valuable to contribute to the discussion. I'm not that concerned with getting my numbers up--I think it's more important to write thoughtful and descriptive posts--quality over quantity. Although I try to respond to my friends, I would only do it if the topic really interested me.

How do you choose to respond to a topic?
Well, I check the responses that I received for my own posts and respond to them. Then I check the posts of my friends and try to respond to them if they interst me or if I know i can participate and contribute.
The thread should be from my interest but I do reply to other threads also.

Sometimes I start from those discussions that have zero responses. Sometimes I start straight with those, that are the most popular. Sometimes I also start by choosing all the discussions in a certain interest. I have no particular way to start replying. It depends on my instant instinct. But I only respond to those topics, which interests me. I do not write replies, just because I need to write.

firstly when i logged in to mylot i will view the discussions from my interest.then i will respond to it whichever that i know how to answer it.if i found out none of them interests me then i would started browsing today's top discussions.sometimes the top discussion is a repeat discussions which makes me boring.then i will jump to the discussion started by new users
i helped new users a lot by answering their questins regarding my lot.eventhought i have to type so many times for the same questions since my number of posts doesn't allow me to copy and paste yet.it is good to help new mylotters out there.we used to be new to this site too and the senior members guides us.so that is a great feelings of helping each other.
sometimes i am just not in the mood of typing anything for the discussions on mylot.so that time i will just upload images until i reach my daily limit.this month i didn't respond to any discussiosn for the whole month.so basically my earnings is just from uploading images.but i get fully paid for all the images i uploaded.

I c that our minds work ALIKE, TinaCL!
I also favor the systematic approach, and I do it in EXACTLY the order that U do: respond 2 replies on MY discussions, then go 2 FRIENDS' discussions, THEN my interests!
After all of THAT, if I STILL don't c anything of interest 2 me, then I'll just wander aimlessly, like flippin' the remote control!

I usually look at the today's top discussion because if people are discussing it it may be important. Secondly, I look at my friends discussions and then try to respond to my own. I really like mylot having a lot of friends and such. Check out my blog at

i also tend to check the discussions ive started and reply to some, if not all, responses. i thinks its the polite thing to do. then id go the the discussions my friends started. if i cant find any new discussions started by my friends, i then go to the discussions with no responses. i try to check up to 5 pages to make sure i check all discussions. but if still i couldnt find any interesting discussion to respond to, ill go to either discussions from my interest or today's hot topics.
