How is the Public Transport Sytem (PTS) in your country, in general, and your city (name the city), in particular? Do you regularly use the PTS? Do you like to use the PTS of your city or you dislike it but still you have to use it since there is no alternate means of transport available to you?
Which city, in your opinion, has the best PTS in the world?

I live in State of Karnataka in India. For 50 years, the public transport was running under loss due to inefficieint management. Now the government has geared up and has fine turned the administration by properlyintroducing checks and controls. Now the public transport system is making profit after 50 years of its service and there is remarkable improvemnent in their service.

Thank you for the details of the transport sytem in Karnataka. It is raelly good that the ills that prevailed for 50 years are now vanishing. It may take some time when we feel positive about them but if the signs are encouraging, we have reasons to feel happy about the changes.
I am sure, sooner or later, things would be to our expectations.

In fact the public transport put their fleet to unknown and little known destinations whereas the private transport companies run on profitable lines only. That means despite running their fleet to uneconomic areas but essential places for the sake of people in remote areas, still they are making profits is really a heartening note.

It is true that when the ownership is handed over to a private party, service is likely to improve. A government enterprise is nobody's business; it runs on bureaucratic style. But the private enterprises also have their ills; sometimes, profit becomes the sole criterion and it affects the customers adversely. The customers have to be on their guard and demand a fair deal.

Hello, norstar, the public transport system is not good as some other expected. The rail network has relatively good coverage throughout the city but the system is very old, there may not be air conditioning in many trains,it may be suffocating in a hot day, also the trains always get running late ,the seldom follow to the schedules.I catah the train everyday to my workplace. The train was late for ten minutes today when i came back home from work. I do not like to train ,i can take a bus but it may not be much difference.

Thank you easy.
I think the Public Transport System (PTS) in Australia is under Government. Am I right? Government Enterprises are slow to respond to rapidly changing realities. I hope the things would change for better and it would help those who are affected.
It may not be as bad to return home late than reaching office late.
