Do you ever wonder what you did with your time before you had kids?

My hubby and I were actually talking about this the other day, and I don't know what I wasted so much time on! I know we went out ALOT! We hardly ever cooked for ourselves, we never even went grocery shopping, because we didn't eat at home! I never miss that life really though, Sure, I had a lot more money, and all the free time I could want, but my life is so much more fufilled than it ever was!

I worked full time and while we enjoyed two full time incomes, I wouldn't change a thing! When the kids were much smaller (they are 6 & 4 now) it effected us much more and limited what we did and when we did it. We were much more spontaneous before having children. The cleaning and laundry still gets done, maybe just not as often as I would like it to. But they are only little for a short time and the kids are so much more important than cleaning and laundry!

It was easy for me to go out and me,my hubby used to go for movies and used to spent a lot of time at restaurants and parks but now it is quite difficult with the children to do all that we used to do before and moreover all the time goes in caring, and work at home and even nowadays it is hard to take a small nap in the afternoons. Yes,somebody who said must have said with expierence that life will change totally after having kids.

I had the time of my life when I was single then. I actually made a conscious effort to enjoy it because I know that having kids or a family of my own will be another level or stage in life that will be very much different from what I am accustomed to. Yes, sometimes it pops in my head those glorious days of being single and unattached, those times wherein all you care about is your own well-being, you can travel anywhere and anytime you want to without worrying about nappies, preparing infant food, extra clothings, who will take care of the kids and if ever someone is available , you don't want to leave because you will surely miss them. There are lots of perks that I miss but like the others here, the stage where I am in right now is the most rewarding phase in my life, no words can express the happiness and fulfillment that I have achieved because having kids made me complete. Before I always ask myself in what direction will I be heading , it seems that life is free flowing that I wonder what will make me feel complete. Well, having kids surely took most of my time, so what i do is just like what I did before , to enjoy every moment of it even though sometimes the shouting matches, toys all over the floor and the mess they consistently make everyday gives you a chill in the spine LOL:) Their smile, hugs & kisses melt my heart so quickly that I just remind myself I shall pass this stage only once, what good I can do to my children let me do it now and enjoy it for I will never pass this way again ha-ha-ha!
