What is the biggest sacrifice anybody has ever done for you?

Let's keep discussions of faith or religion out of this, because what I'm thinking about is sacrifices made by real, everyday people. I'm talking about maybe your mother, your father, your spouse, your child, your friend....It may not really be something heroic in the cinematic sense, but something like giving up a cherished dream or something he/she wants...

mothers are always ready to sacrifice for their children so for my 1st born, I needed to stay at home and take care of her. I would still want to stay at home to take care of my 2nd baby but this past year, i need to do what i'm doing now. Though the location was just a few meters away from our home, it still takes most of my time, research, trade, analysis, etc. What i'm trying to say is everybody in the family were making sacrifices, the time of bonding & playing with mommy has lessened, reading time has lessened, in daytime my baby is with the helper (which really breaks my heart) to accomplish the family's goals. I just keep in mind that i'm doing this so my kids, hubby & I would have more time together very very soon.

You are right. Sometimes, all members of the family have to make certain sacrifices in order to reach a common goal.

If it is considered a big sacrifice, I would think my ex-colleague did it well many years ago. I am grateful to him for it. He quit his job to preserve my rice-bowl. That was when the economy was doing badly and the company was badly hit. To date, he is still out of job. Not that he cannot get a job, he does not want a pay which does not cover his daily expenses. There are employers who are simply out to take advantage.

I kept banging my bunny head here but can't come up with anyone ever made a big sacrifice for me. Sure, my parents had done a lot of sacrifices for all my sibling and me.
In my case, I sacrifice my dream of having a great career and instead chose to be a stay-at-home bunny to my two little bunnies. Although at times, I tend to envy my friends who have their own businesses and earning steady income. I have a little sideline of my own so I can still connect to the outside world.

Hi, Charms! Yes, it's a pretty hard question. I keep thinking of it myself. Yes, my parents did their sacrifices, but there is no particular instance that really stands out. It's pretty much a lot of little sacrifices along the way. I think you did a great sacrifice yourself by giving up your career, though. I cannot say that I can do that, so kudos to you!
