Renting an apartment with a pit bull

Hey guys...just need some advice on an issue that my boyfriend and I are having. We currently own a male pit bull puppy and are having a very hard time finding an apartment that will rent to us. So far everyone has given us a list of restricted breeds and "pit bull" is always on the top. We are now living in a hotel and since we know the owner personally, he is allowing our pup to stay but I HATE living in a hotel! We are desperate to find something - but we are not willing to give up our new puppy. I understand that there are some F*cked up people out there who own pits and turn them into monsters but we are not those people. Can someone give us some advice??
