I think that the Boston Red Sox will win the World Series this year. Their impressive hitting lineup, formidable starting rotation, and nearly unhittable bullpen will take them to the top. The Yankees won't give them too much trouble because of their ongoing bad play. Look forward to Boston and the Mets in the fall classic.

The Boston Red Sox have the best record in baseball and that is not a fluke. The pitching staff has been lights out and carried the team when the offense struggles. Josh Beckett is making an early case for the American League Cy Young award and Julian Tavarez is pitching like a number 3 in the number 5 spot. The offense is much better than they have been playing lately. The biggest problem the team has right now is Julio Lugo. A shortstop the team has committed 36 million dollars to over the next four years looks as if he couldn't hit a fastball from a twelve year old right now. However as long as the team stays injury free as they are right now (save Schilling) the defense we have combined with our pitching staff will be enough t make up for the lackluster offense thus far his year and help us get to the World Series.

Well, no I don't think they will make it to the World Series. And not because the Yankees will. I'm a die hard Yankee fan, but I'll be real, it is not going to happen for them. I think the Red Sox will make it to the second round of the playoffs, but no farther. Their pitching seems to get tired toward the end of the season, which is normal for any club. But they have some older guys who are not bouncing back as well as they used to. And I know Dice K is supposed to be the big guy, he can only do so much since he pitches only every five days. And the last reason is Manny. Big Papi will be there. But Manny is notorious for his off the wall defensive blunders, and when he does that, I think the criticism will start to invade how he swings the bat. I mean last year he demanded a trade! But I'm not a psychic. They could prove me wrong. They have the will to do it. And getting rid of Johnny Damon has done them no harm. I bet now they wouldn't take him for free now. : )
