Yikes. I had my son almost 5 weeks ago and I am mortified by the amount of extra everything I seem to have now... extra cellulite, skin, fat, you name it, I got it! I know it hasn't been that long, but with breastfeeding I really thought I would start losing the weight, but I'm still a good 35 pounds above what I should be. I feel like I can't really get much strenuous excercise with a baby in tow, but we do take walks every day. How did you lose your baby weight, or did you? Do things ever get back to normal?

It really varies with everyone. I've never lost the weight from my first, but after my second I dropped weight like it was water. LOL Wait a few more weeks and try exercising at home. I bought a yoga video and a belly dancing video (which I never use )I'm so lazy.

yup. it varies from person to person. there are those who can get back in shape and some just don't. belly dancing is one great way of getting rid of pregnancy fats or even just sit ups. accompanied by a healthy diet.. you'll surely have that great body back.

Well, I gained 32 lbs. and I swear I did not even loose the 7 lbs my baby weighed at first! He's 11 mos old now and I still have about 10 lbs to loose, but I only just got the motivation to loose it (swimsuit weather yikes!). While my stretch marks still haven't completely faded, my skin is starting to feel firm again, but I know it is never going to be the same!

Don't feel bad about it, you just had a baby! Even though it was 5 weeks ago, that's not super long. It's impressive that you take walks every day. A lot of women are too tired to exercise with a baby that young, so you should feel good about that. Once your baby gets older you'll be able to do more strenuous exercise, but for now just take it easy, and give yourself some credit. :)

I lost most of my baby weight once my son started walking, I mean running lol. I still have some extra weight, but it's been distributed differently, like all on my butt ;) It will come off, just really gradually.

Do you have a sling (baby carrier)? I used one constantly after my babies were born instead of a stroller when I would go anywhere. Carrying the baby in the sling while walking is a little bit of a workout in itself as babies are like little weights. LOL This along with nursing helped me to lose the extra weight. Only problem is I have gained some extra weight once my kids could walk/run around on their own. :P Good luck!

i am not a mother yet. but i have this friend who is super sexy months after giving birth. curious as i was, i asked for her secret. he said that after she had the baby, she started eating healthy... fruits and some fish and vegetables. she waved from sodas, chips and some chocolates. she also do abs exercises when she finally are able to and allowed to do it. and she's really super sexy... like she hasn't given birth at all. i guess proper exercise with determination will put you back in shape.

Do you want the bad news? Welcome to parenthood, where everything you own is saggy, droopy and a big pudgier than before. Soon it will be all your belongings that are either spit on, chewed on, or eventually flushed down the toilet. It prepares us for their teenage years.

I suppose I was lucky and lost everything the next day, you wouldnt have even known that I just had a bub. Even the doctors were shocked...lol. But it takes at least 6 weeks anyway to see any sign because your body has to go back into shape, there are bit everywhere. Breatfeeding and walking is great, but you also have your floor exercises too, nothing too strenuous.

Congratulations on the new baby! After I gave birth to my first child, in the first month due to lack of sleep and rest plus no appetite, I lost so much weight...from 156 back to 125. I can't believe it! All my clothes fit and I was back to size 4. Then when I got used to my routine...I gained weight again. I went size 6...then size 8. And I got pregnant again and will be expecting my second daughter around July 4. This time, am not worried about my weight gain because I know I will slowly loose it but then I make sure that when I loose it slowly, I will not gained it all back. I will be careful with my diet and lots of exercise. Give your body time to heal and adjust with the new baby. Sooner, things will be back to pre baby shape. As you look at your new baby, you will be amazed how can such a cute bundle of joy fit right inside you. So, give your body time to heal. You had gone thru so much.

Yikes is a great word to describe a woman's body after having a baby!! Just give yourself some more time and keep up with the walking. Once your baby gets bigger and your body is healed more you can do more exercising...it will get better!! Especially since it is your first baby!! With my first the weight eventually fell off and I didn't do anything, but with my son I still have an extra 10 pounds, and he is two!!! It is alot harder to lose the weight with the second baby. Don't be too hard on yourself just enjoy your little baby and your body should get back to normal soon!!
