Do women or men have more trouble merging into traffic?

I find myself looking to see who is driving when I see someone having trouble merging into traffic. They either can't get over and end up on the shoulder,..or they just close their eyes and hope everyone gets out of the way.

I don't think it has anything to do with gender.. it really depends on the traffic itself. I used to hate merging, but now I'm fairly good at it. If someone is right next to me I usually let them go ahead in front, and then stay right in the middle so others can't come at full speed right when I'm practically in the merged lane. It's a lot easier to merge when the traffic is slow though, when there is one lane who has the right of way - those cars are zooming by and it's really hard to get in.

I don't know if has anything to do with gender. Some people are just better at it than others. I am terrible at merging. My husband just pushes his way into traffic at full speed with the attitude that they will move over. I am more cautious, I will slow down and hope I judge it correctly.
Merging is the worst thing for me, otherwise, I am a very good driver. I think it may have to do with experience and how aggressive a person it.
