Is it really worth the money?

Sure, mylot pays you to participate on in it's community, but is it really worth it to stick around just for that purpose. You really don't earn that much. I saw someone bragging on here how they spent 12 hours on the site in one day and earned $1.48. Wow! That's Great! [/sarcasm] Not really...Get a job loser...I don't see why people stick around if it's for the money, and I don't know how long I'll be sticking around here. Sure discussions are fun, but wouldn't you rather talk to someone in real life? I think some people on here need to get a job and make some friends. Discuss...

Sorry but i completey disagree with you. I have a job and i have friends. Im not here for the money, im here for the discussion and chat because i like to talk and discuss different topics with people the world over. Its clear that you have joined Mylot with the sole intention of making money. You wont make a lot of money at Mylot, nobody ever has and nobody ever will. If your trying to make some decent money on the internet then you are at the wrong place.

I'm not accusing everyone on mylot of not having a job or having friends. I never said I joined mylot purely for financial purposes either. The discussions are OK. If your in it for the money though what makes this site different from any chat room, or web forum, or sites like facebook and myspace which have a much larger community to benefit from?

Calling someone a loser and telling people to get a job and some friends is never a good way to start your profile on any community chat forum such as this one. The reason why i use this site over facebook or myspace is because this is a chat site. You see a discussion you like, you respond and then you respond to the response, and i dont believe you can do this on myspace or facebook. This for me is a global chatroom but unlike many chatrooms on the internet you wont find any abuse, bad language or anything else negative here. There are a few people who join mylot only for the money but once they realise this is a place for people to get stuff of their chest and express their opinions rather than a way of making any decent money online they either start to appreciate what mylot is or they leave and move onto the next opportunity to earn some money. Nobody is forcing you to stay here if you think its not worth it, if you leave mylot thats your decision but if you decide to stay then your more than welcome and i hope that you will see that Mylot is a great website and a great community rather than a way to make money.

For the second time, I am not here for money...Stop reacting emotionally and taking it personally. Did I call you a loser? No. Am I calling people who waste 12 hours on this site in one day losers...basically. If this isn't you, why are you so offended. I'll discuss whatever topics come to mind, whether people may like the idea or not. I'm not here to make people feel good about themselves, and I'm going to say what's on my mind.

well as it happens, i have a job and friends aswell as a relationship, so this doesnt count for everyone! i think u should stop sterotyping people from this site and look at ur own life befor u judge others on what they do with their free time!!!
I come on this just to kill time.... i dont care about the money! infact if im honest, the only real reason im on this thing is because my partner banned me from chat rooms! lol

I'm here because I don't have the tranportation to go to a real job. Some of us are disabled and can't work. Some of us are stay at home moms. Some of us are retired. Yes I would rather talk to a real live person but some time that is out of the question. Some people are here for the fun of it. I would put this in all caps if it wasn't against rules. We are not losers!!!!

I'm not accusing everyone on mylot of being losers. I was saying that the guy who stayed on this sight for 12 hours straight just to earn a little over a buck was a loser. Either you took what I said wrong, or you got defensive because you are denying your own inner belief that you do in fact waste too much time on mylot instead of doing more productive things.

I guess people join here because they actually enjoy writing and sharing their opinions or knowledge with others despite the small pay. Besides, even if the pay is bigger but you're not actually happy about what you're doing then I think that it also wouldn't be worth the money and you really wouldn't last long doing it. It's definitely not just about the pay here on MyLot but also in making friends and loving to write.

Of course it is good to have a job. Take for myself, I have been looking for job with employment sponsership for months. Unfortunately, I still unable to get an employer that will to sponser me. I am unable to work in US as I am holding a dependent visas. I was here in US for about 7 months and do not have much friends here except neighbours and some moms at the playground. I do not take myLot as a place for earning money. But, honestly, I find myLot give me the chances to have more information and let be pour my sorrow and happiness. I can't simply go and knock on my neighbours door and tell them my happiness and sorrow. Keep my finger cross, I hope I can get a sponsership from employer soon.

I am not just here for the money..I am here for the friends I make..I make reasonable money with the company I work for ..so coming here isn't about cash only..
I sometimes make 10 cents..LOL..surely I am not going to get rich for that..but..a penny saved is a penny earned;)+

I think you'll find that most of us aren't here for the money. We're here because we're a community, with good friends and we enjoy participating in discussions.
So what if we're not face to face with someone? It doesn't really matter to be honest.

I've thought about that before. I think, is it really worth it spending time on here earning just a little bit of money, but when I could be doing something else more profitable or worth my time, or even spending some time with my family? But I really do enjoy myLot, and I no longer waste countless hours of my day on here. Some days I don't even log onto myLot at all. I do like sharing my opinions and views on things though, and I used to do that on other forums and messageboards anyway (and never get paid for it). So now I'm here, doing the same things I used to do, except getting paid is an added bonus. But I will never waste my life on this site. ;)

Dear Friend,
I think about it in this way. If we can use our leasure time to share our knowledge and experiences with others, it is the best thing i can do. Can't you think about it in that way. I'm not trying to earn lot of money. Oneday we will get some money. But if some one thinks that this a thing to earn money for life, he is the most stupid person i have ever seen in my life.
Thanks

this must be the proper attitude of anyone who stays around here. when i started doing mylot, it was purely out of curiosity. slowly, i enjoyed doing it. after more than a month of being around, i thought about trying to see how much time and effort is needed to earn one hundred dollars in a month's time. it was in the month of may that i found the time to devote for it. it would take about 5,000 credit points to do it if pictures are not posted together with the discussions. since i have not done the needed credit points, i had not realized my target.

I have jobs, two of them, plus some at home employment. I have friends, and I have hobbies. I like the friends I have here as well, and I learn new, helpful things here. You seem pretty hostile, so why are you even posting at all. No one has tied you up and made you do it. The money I earn goes straight to paypal, and it earns interest, more than 5%. I have learned of another place that I am successfully investing from, with my PayPal account, and am making money that way as well. Besides that, I am helpful to people, and a good friend with people around the world. My brain gets stretched. You can go get a job, or another one, to pay for some lessons in how to be mannerly. No one has called you names on myLot, and you do not need to call them names.

it would be a pity if we will have only mylot for a source of income. that person is most probably a student. or that could be one who has a job and the amount he/she earned came at a time when he/she's off from work. it is impossible to be truly happy to receive hat much only for 12 hours work. that is too small an amount. i know that to earn above 4 dollars a day is about impossible around here. to earn 100 dollars a month is very difficult. this month, i have tried it. i spent so many hours doing mylot each day. i was thinking about trying to see how much effort is needed to earn $100 a month. i will tell you now that i have not even reached half the amount after working so hard and getting more than 2 thousand points credit. next month, i might not be able to spend much time doing mylotting anymore. this is the reason why i have embarked about experimenting on this thing. i was proven wrong about earning $100 by working full time here. you know now what i mean.
