Did you know that your phone number may be listed in Google. If it is then anyone can find out where you live with map quest.
Google has a feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and be given the person's name and address. If you hit Mapquest, you will get directions to the person's house.
This is dangerous because if your child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives.
I tested a few Canadian numbers and noted it did not work, but it did work with a US number I tested.
This is really dangerous.
According to a blogging friend of mine, you can block your number by clicking on your telephone
number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours.

Thank you swtrose for the heads up on this. My children are a little young to be giving out my number over the internet, but I could see them doing it in a year or two. :) Will have to check this out.

I tried by typing in my phone number. But it asks for some membership payment to give out details. Is there any other free way to try and find out? I don't know if we can block anybody from seeing our address if they pay for it. But getting it free is just bullshit. How do I find out exactly?
