Ok so the other day my boys were being very quiet. I decided to go check because quiet means being bad. LOL So I go to there room and only see my 5 yr old sleeping. No 3 yr old. Look in the toy room, living room, No 3 yr old. Look in my room, then outside, no 3 yr old. Hum..By this time im starting to worry. here can he be?? My house is only so big. So I searched again. Finally I found him. He was sleeping behind the chair in the living room covered with a blanket. I thought it was just a blanket!! LOL Have you ever "lost" your child??

My 3 years old loves to hide in her closet and I just noticed this when I called her and she didn't reply. I was getting worried. We lived on the 2nd floor of the apartment and we have our own stairs and door going down. The baby gate is still up so I know she didn't went downstairs and got out of our place. Panicking deep inside, I remained calm and called out " Ready or not, here I come" and I heard giggling. I finally located her and she was inside the closet (it is sort of a walk in one so it is not that cramp). I calmly sat down with her that if Mama calls her, she has to answer right away and it is not good to be hiding in the closet for a period of time. I think she was just "lost" from my peripheral vision for like 10 minutes but for me...it seems like forever.

I have also expereinced this one of my daughters "disapeered" and we couldnt find her only to find her after to searching high and low in the laundry room in amonst the dirty clothes and cloths baskets, it was also time to do the bed laundry so comforters were int her too and that is why she decided it was a good place to sleep. We also looked in there and didnt see a few times, then my other daugter went in to get something and kinna stepped on her. I was going nuts i never want to experience that again even though i knew she wasnt completly lost.

Glad you found your child, it must have been the worst thing to ever happen when you couldn't find him. But no, it's never happened to me since I don't have a child.

Oh yes it very scary for that couple of min till you find them. You think the worst!! But then there they are and you laugh because there was no reason to panic in the first place.

I didn't, but my friend did. Her little girl liked to steal food out of the kitchen cupboard. In their house was a room, with two doorways. If both doors were open, there was a little dark corner. She kept an extra dining room chair there. Her daughter disappeared one day, to the extent that all the neighbors were mobilized and the police as well. When the little girl was found, she was in that dark little place, under the dining room chair, asleep, with a box of dry jello powder in her hands. LOL. OOPs, I lied, I must be old. Many years ago (28) my son was upstairs, sleeping. I locked and chained the front door, went out the backdoor to work in the garden, leaving the door open so when my son got up from his nap he would come out to me. He was about two and a half. Pretty soon the phone rings, and I answer it. My neighbor at the end of the block and across the street asked "Where is Vincent" I said, He is in bed, she said "No he isn't, he is here." The stinker had gotten up, pushed a chair over, undid the chain, and gone down the street toward her house. Her daughter helped him cross, then they called me. Her house was fun, she baby sat, and there were always other kids to play with, so the kid went. I was very embarrassed.

I haven't ever lost one of mine but I was babysitting and ended up losing one of the kids. I went into their room to check on them to make sure that they were asleep and not playing quietly and saw an empty bed. Ran around the house checking everywhere I could think of and checking the doors and windows. Finally I called her mom and she told me to go look under her bed because they had moved the trundle bed out and if the bed is out she gets down and sleeps under the bed. There she was fast asleep under the bed with a pillow and blanket lol. I had never been so scared in my entire life!

Well, one day I was indside with our 9 month old at the time and my husband was out in the garage. The baby had fallen asleep on the floor in front of the couch so I figured I would take a nap. He usually cries when he wakes up so I'd know when he woke up. My husband came in and woke me asking where's the baby, he's not in the crib and he's not with you, where did I put him. So we start searching every where, I was freaking out. I went upstairs thinking that maybe I put him in his crib (even though the hubby had already checked there). All the sudden I heard the faintest little sigh come from my bedroom. He had somehow crawled up the stairs, which he had never even tried to do before, and fallen asleep in my room. I was so thankful he hadn't hurt himself. And I put a baby gate across the stairs immediately!

I have no children, but my parents managed to lose me when I was 7 or 8 and we were on holiday. We were picnicking and I wandered off somewhere, when I came back, everyone had vanished and I could not find them. I was not lost, I knew exactly were I was and how to get back to my grandfather's house which was about 10 miles or so away so I started to walk! Anyway, I managed to get back to my grandfather's all right but I don't to this day, know how this happened. It just goes to show how easy it is to lose a child, sometimes with tragic consequences. There was a case here some years ago when a group of boys took a toddler when his mother's back was turned and later on killed him. And then there is the case now in Spain with the disappearance of the little girl Madeline McCann who has still not been found.
