The Celts envisioned the entire universe in the form of a tree; the roots growing deep into the ground and the branches reaching high into the heavens. Trees were considered to be living beings which possessed infinite knowledge and wisdom, as well as magickal powers, and were symbolically representative of the cycles of life, death, and renewal.
