Why couldn't Peter Fly Away?

Ok, I know that Peter always had the hardest time controlling his flying power but c'mon! It was the one he had the longest! I also realize that him simply flying away by himself wouldn't have been half as dramatic and Nathan definitely had some redeeming to do but still...I just better see them both back next season. Maybe Nathan flew him as high as possible and then let go and got the hec outta there before Peter blew.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE this show! It's taken the top spot on my list (formally occupied by LOST) and never let me down all season.
Also, what happened to Sylar? Did he get away into the sewer and what was up with the cockroaches crawling away? Was that some sort of weird sign that his blood infected them and next thing we know there's gonna be mutant bugs everywhere?
Hhhmmmm.........let me know what you think!

I wondered the same thing and even if he didn't fly away why couldn't Claire just shoot him?? He would have come back to life anyway. It seems weird to sacrifice Nathan when Peter would have been ok either way.
I hope they're both in the next season. I loved the future episode with Peter (and the scar) and wouldn't want to miss out on him in the future.

I was thinking there for a while that the whole, "Save the Cheerleader" thing was because she was the one meant to shoot him, but she didn't. Now, it brings about the mystery regarding the "Save the Cheerleader." Apparently she plays a big role in saving the world, I just can't wait to see what it is.

I thought the future Hiro meant that claire is to be saved so that they could kill sylar. the future hiro failed because sylar had the power to regenerate. so he went back in time and told peter to do save her. Hence sylar couldn't regenerate when hiro stabbed him.

I was wondering the same thing! He told Claire to shoot him the same place he'd had that piece of glass stuck in the back of his head...which she removed & after which he came back to life!
I have to just kep reminding myself that it is a fictional TV show & drama rules over common sense. I still love it though and can't wait till next season!

Well not so sure whats going to happen next season with peter and nathan. But I am not so sure sylar is still alive at all. My theory either is he was dragged away not crawled away. By who you are thinking? by the new and more terrifying bad guy of course. Dont forget the little girl who can locate people told them there was someone else but she didnt think about him because when she did he could see her, well I think thats gona be the next villain of the show.

Yep, this new big bad guy will defenitely be around in the next season!
Can you believe it's only been 1 season so far. So much happened in this one!

I wondered the same thing too. But I guess it makes a lot of sense that he was out of control and couldn't control the nuclear stuff happening so he couldn't control any other powers.
I am sure they will back though. I still forsee another huge fight between Sylar and Peter. I wonder what will happen now that Linderman is gone though.
You can also read the graphic novels on the NBC website that might show a bit more insight. I still need to read them.

I think in a corporation or group (remember Hiro's Dad was associated with Linderman) there's always going to be someone higher up, so maybe now that Linderman's gone an even nastier rich guy will step up to take his place. And maybe this is the big bad guy that the little girl (tracking device) was talking about?

Now, that is definitely a good point. He did seem to have some control issues :)

I was wondering why Peter didn't fly away myself. I guess that Nathan coming to prevent the explosion in the city was more dramatic.
I can't understand why Claire's Dad [Nathan is her father, the other guy is her dad](I can't think of his name) didn't check to make sure that Skyler didn't get away.

I do believe that nathan flew up high and and let go and flew off before peter blew. You can't have the next season without them both can you?
I don't think peter could have done everything himself because he needs to concentrate on keeping from blowing up.
I think someone dragged him into the sewer. There is definitely something to do with the cockroaches. They are found here and there in season one. If you remember Molly said that there is one person who can see her if she thinks of him. Maybe this person uses cockroaches to get news. Cockroaches go everywhere, even in the paper factory.
I've always wonder what kind of facilities is that if there are cockroaches around? I have noticed that no one in the movie seemed to notice the cockroaches. In real life the first thing you would do it kill it wouldn't you? Yet in the movie they seem to be over looked a lot.

That's interesting and something I hadn't thought of before. That other guy that Molly is talking about could have dragged Sylar into the sewers and maybe plans to use his body at some time. I think we'll find out what happens next season.
Also, if you remember future Hiro thinks that he was unsuccessful in killing Sylar and that the cheeleader was killed, too. If he immediately flashed to the past after stabbing him, he didn't see what really happened, then it's possible he didn't know that Claire went into hiding and that he really did kill Sylar and that something brought him back to life. When Hiro comes back, he will think that the bomb exploaded, too.
