I have never heard of pranayam , can you tell me a bit about it? I do not do any real form of exercise at the moment cos I am recovering from back surgery and before that I couldn't do much because of my back problem! I am really looking forward to recuperating fully and being able to do more exercise again! xxx

pranayam are a set of exercises from yoga. they are mainly concerned with your breathing. they are yogic breathing exercises.
pranayam was devised by ancient yogis in India. They knew the intimate connection between breath and mind.
Pranayam is not as complex as it is made out to be, but neither is it something that can be trifled with.
The first thing to learn is sectional breathing. We breathe through three parts of the chest upper, middle and lower as well as the abdomen. We have to first learn how to breathe through each part individually before we can breathe through all of them.
You can learn more about it on the internet and you can become proficient by rigorous practice.
It is said that doing prnanyam daily for just 15 minutes helps in staying fit and keeping away most of the diseases.

oh forgive my ignorance but what is Pranayam?? I am very curious!! I like taking good care of my body. so I pay attention to my diet (fortunately I am very keen on fruit and vegetables and this helps me having a healthy diet), trying to eat small of amounts of all the necessary nutrients and then...I like doing exercises..I like going to the gym each day or each other day according to my work. I do aerobics, pilates, running..I like walking very much and swimming..therefore I am so happy that the weather is turning hot because so I can go and swim in the sea!!!

To keep fit I take up walking and am now trying to change my diet to incorporate more vegetables and fruits. I tried yoga but soon grow out of it and so far walking is the best exercise as it tend to stay longer , you won't get bored doing it.

I usually do Taebo. Have you ever heard of it? It's something like kick boxing. I find that it really burns a whole lot of calories cuz it's a cardio workout. I love it cuz it's fun and it really makes you sweat. Other than that, I try to control my diet. But since I love food too much, it's hard for me to maintain a steady diet. That's why I need to do Taebo every other day! I have never tried yoga though although a lot of people have recommended it.

To keep myself physically and mentally fit I usually for long walks at the park, use my exercise equipment at home as well as eating healthy. I try to watch the foods that I eat and exercise regularly. I also make sure I get the proper amount of sleep at night to help my mental health and try to avoid shows that have too much negativity. I also go to church.

I am not much of an exerciser. I walk alot, but that is it. My doctor told me that the key to keeping your body energized is water and walking. They act as fuel for the body.

I used to join a gymnasium and then after a while, I did not have the time to attend the gym sessions and I ended up paying for nothing. Due to that, I only go for my swimming session when I have the time. Again, time is the constraint.

I play Dance Dance Revolution, its very healthy and fun. We have a playstation 2 and you can use it on most consoles so if you don't have the one we do you can get it on others. They have several different games and styles, its really fun you should try it.

To stay fit, I play badminto three times a week. It burns a lot of calories. I also use a Timeworks fx at home. I use it at least 5 minutes every session. Avoding carbohydrates also help me not to gain weight. I eat rice only in the morning. Above all, I take vitamins e and iron everyday. Let us all stay healthy!

I don't do anything and that is why I look like I do. I try to drink water instead of cola. But I have had two back surgeries and I can't exercise like I used to. I wish I could, but my back and leg problems limit me to what I can do.

To keep myself fit i do some basic stretches to lossen my limbs and tone my muscles. Then i like to walk as it is easiest & safe form of exercise that can be done throughout the day. Walking early morning also refreshes the mind, calms you down, declutters your mind. I also like to do aerobics, yoga and meditation for physical and mental fitness.
I also like to eat well balanced diet which has raw vegetables as salad for fibre, i also eat fruits and vegetables as they provide the nutrients for the body. Then i drink plenty of water. Avoid junk food and aerated drinks.

I'm back to walking every day - one hour, about 3 miles. Once the pool water warms up I will do a few laps when I get home from my walk. I drink lots of water, have increased my fruit intake (some fruits and vegetables don't agree with my IBS so have to avoid them). I have an exercise ball too that I work on. Even just sitting on it and bouncing up and down strengthens muscles and releases toxins from the lymph nodes. I try to eat as little sugar as possible, but I'm a sugar freak so I'm not very successful at that.

I try to keep myself in good health by going on a bike ride, or going for a nice long walk when it is cool outside. If it is just to hot outside, than I will stay inside and do some aerobics, or get in some miles on my stationary exercise bike. Really depends on the day on what form of exercise I do.

I hit the gym 3 times a week for about an hour of weight training, and 30 minutes of endurance training on the bike.
I also ride my bike all over town on the weekend.

I am too old for a physical regime other than what I have to do normally....My health is not good enough to permit strenuous exercise, so I just stay as active in normal life as I can.
