Have you ever slept with your EARPHONE while sleeping?

I think I'm an addict to music. If I have free time, I'll listen to the music I like with my earphone. Hehe, even when I sleep at night, I'll always be with my earphone. It often happens on me that I get sleep and forget the earphone.
Every time my mother found me sleeping with it, she would tell me that it was bad for my ear and suggest that I should not sleep with it later.
Do you often listen to the music with earphone?
Is there only me who have this experience of sleeping with earphone?
Have you ever slept with your earphone while sleeping?
Is that true it's bad for our ear to use earphone frequently?
Share your opinions? Thank you in advance.^_^

Well though I do not listen to music 24/7 but I do listen to it when I feel like it and sometimes I do fall asleep with the ear phone in my ear because sometimes I prefer to listen to trance music before I go to sleep.
Indeed it is really bad for your ear because the sound is directly popped into your ear and it can very much affect your hearing and your speech.

Hello music lover, I slept several times listening to music from speakers. I use earphones only while travelling. Using them quite often will damage the ear drum.

I like music but I won't sleep with my earphone. But it's not comfortable to wear it for a long time, especially in sleeping. Also it's not good to hear it all the time, it'll be harmful for the hearing if the volume is not suitable.

I used to sleep with my earphone plugged in my ear. I find that it is no good for that. It hurts our ears. To protect your sense of hearing, I suggest that you use mini speakers instead.

I listen to the radio at night. But on occasion I have listened to headphones when there is a thunder storm. I do it to block out the sound. I hate thunder and lightning. So yes I have. But its hard to "roll over" and usually have to sleep on my back (which I hate).

Hello, monkeywriter.
Doing like that sounds a good way to block out it(hehe..).
Yeah, you're right. Every time when I slept with it, my body will probably feel uncomfortable next morning, especially my back.
I'll try to change it from now on. I can make it. :)
Thank you for your response.
Wish you happy every day! ^_^

i, too, am a music addict. i purposey go to sleep with my headphones in my ears every night. i have an iPod and it is a wonderful thing. Nice and small and sleek so it is not this big bulky thing i my bed. i put my headphones on, turn on whatever artist i feel like listening to that night, lay down, close my eyes, and try to get off to sleep. It really helps me. i cannot sleep without my music.

Hi, xfallenxlostx.
Another music addict! I'm glad to know you.
Yeah, we both get used to the wonderful feeling of sleeping with earphones.
However, like other mylotters mentioned, it's said that it's bad for our ear, especially when sleeping.
So we'd better change this habbit.
To keep us healthier, let's go for it together. :)
Thank you for your response.
Wish you happy all the time. ^_^

I've read that it's bad for you to sleep with your earphone on. For one thing, your ear may hurt when you wake up and since all our body parts need to take a rest (including our eardrums), by sleeping with earphones and music on, you tend to strain your ears and all its sensitive parts.

When I'm sleeplessness,I listen music or english passage to make me sleep and then the earphone will be on my ear nealy for all night. But if I wake up at midnight,I will put it off.In fact,it's really a bad habit and so bad for our ear.So I selom use earphone, except the special occasion.I think you'd better choose other ways to enjoy music, especially not listening to music by earphone when you sleep. You can turn on the CDplayer or other lisenting machine.Take care of your body.

Hi, spik_manoda.
Another music addict. :) I'm glad to know you. Yeah, music is one part of our life.
By the way, you don't mention whether using earphone or not. I suggest that we should decrease the time of wearing earphone to listen to music and do not use it at a high volume.
Wish you enjoy yourself every day!^_^

When I don't want to sleep after 12:00, I will listen to music or English articles, then I can get a sound sleep. Sometimes, I will be in bad mood when I listen to some music, I will recall some memory, then I begin to listen English articles, my listening is not very well. So i have to listen the articles carefully. After half an hour, I feel very tired and i am sleepy. But in the morning, my ears hurt badly. Now if i don't want to sleep, I will visit mylot and earn more money here.

Hi, wonderful1.
I'm glad to share your opinion.
I suggest that if you're in bad mood, you should listen to some light music or lively melodies not sad music. That'll make you feel better. :)
I've determined to change this bad habbit for my own health.
Wish you happy all the time! ^_^

YES I DO!!
and it happens every night. It is right that sleeping while having earphone on youre ears is bad.,because it can damage your eardrums and make you totally deaf!! (oooh..too bad for me) but i'm not yet deaf my ears are still functioning well. But don't you know that using earphones can help you to produce ear wax..
but still it is not advisable for you to sleep with earphones.,if you can't sleep w/o music better try to turn on the radios.. remember PREVENTING is better than CURING
c",)
bye guys!!

Hi, samaLone.
We both get used to it. However, fortunately, we're aware of the harm of doing like that. Yeah, it's bad for our ear. I'm really glad to know that your ears are still functioning well.:)
Let's prevent it not wait for cure it(hehe..).
Thank for your good suggestion.
Wish you have a nice day!

I'm addicted to music too! lol. I've fallen asleep listening to music probably a good 75% of my life, most of those times with earphones, and I have perfect hearing. :)
