I love it... from when I was just a little kid my parents took me to my grand parents by train... you are right it's the place were you meet all types of people... from my point of view it beats by far all other means of transportation... Take the train People.

Yes most of the travels I do by train. I enjoy track side views during day time. At night hours I sleep after 10 and wake up at 5 am. Day time I spend in gossip and readings. It is true that we meet different people in train and after discussion of sometime, we become a friend, leaving religion, cast etc aside. This is the best time pass during travelling through train. We come across many unknown informations about each others areas. Sometimes this meeting converts into permanent relationship.

I prefer to travel by coach, but trains are ok. The only difference is that a coach often takes the motorway routes, and then you miss out on a lot of the scenery, but the company is good and I find a coach more comfortable.

For the journey that lasts more than two days, train is the best mode to travel. It is convenient and we can have better views of co-traveller and nature as train passes through jungles, mountains etc....

I used to travel by train when I moved away from my home town adn loved it adn so did my then 2 year old daughter, although have to say I was put off by some idiot putting a bike in the train tracks which ripped the fuel tank adn we were stuck waitig in the middle of nowhere for 5 hours, there were no refreshments left after an hour and we were not allowed to leave the train because of the fuel. ALso all electric was turned off meaning the toilet could not be flushed, it was horrible, but then these things ahppen adn everyone got home eventually, a bit dehydrated and smelly but no one was hurt thank god. I would travel by train again but a bit dubious of travellig such a long journey this time.

I like travelling to, but I prefer to go by airplane. I live in the city, so I travel everyday by tram and light transit train (due to the fact the petrol price is unthinkable and traffic jam), so I am pretty bored of travelling like that. I frequently travel outskirt by train due to my job (like once a month), and while the view is enjoyable, it can be boring to sit in a train for seven to ten hours. It's not everyday you get good company, and for a few times I had to sit alone since the train was almost empty...so for me, I rather pay a little extra for an interstate flight (45 minutes to one hour), provided I can charge it on my company's tab which depends on the monthly budget.
