Hi all... I smoked my last cigarette at 11.30am yesterday - not smoked now for just over 27 hours. I'm finding it a bit of a struggle although I'm sucking on these NiQuitin CQ lozenges.... they're not that nice, but they seem to be doing the trick. I can't sit still for long need to keep busy, constantly thinking about having a cigarette - it's a nightmare!!

Samuel Clemes or Mark Twain, the author of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, has told that it is very easy to give up smoking. In fact it is so easy that he has given up smoking over a hundred times.
But I shouldn't be saying negative things like that. The best thing to do is to get used to chewing gum. it keeps your mouth occupied.

Congratulations, and good luck. You will find that there are others on here who are doing the same as you. You will also find this community to be supportive of your goals for better health. I have not been a smoker, but was raised by smokers, and married to one at one time. It is an awful addiction, not just a habit. If you need help or encouragement, just post. And yes, keep busy. All the best to you.

Congratulations and carry on!!
I guess it's really difficult to give up smoking, especially it's a habit that you've built up for so long. But I also believe if you really want, you can do it. Yeah, just keep yourself busy in doing something, eating or chatting. Find some friends who can really 'watch' you! haha~~~
Don't think, don't think, don't think........ ^_^

Well, best of luck Katkat. You've made the right choice by attempting to quit smoking. I hope you succeed. It's best for your health especially to those who are around you. Don't do it just for yourself, do it for your love ones. You'll find it easier.
