What do you think of this Taks test?I know of a mother who daughter was coming out of high school this week, but couldnt because she missed the test by 2 points, some by 1 point.I think thats unfair, why can't it be like it was, back in the old school days?Am just wondering how many of these kids will go back to finish or take the test over,or just say the hell with it.These kids have worked hard for 12 years,to finish and go on to make something of theirselves, just to be let down by 1 or 2 points. This mother was crying when she called, and the girl, had worked to save her money up for graduation,to find out this was heartbreaking. Why can't they give the test early and then is they failed give them enought time to let them take it over before graduation?

Hi Jetta, they do start the test in the 9th grade and you have 4 years to retake any part that you have failed all the way thru 12th grade, I know we had about 60 kids in a school here that could not walk because they failed the test and a few of them were straight A students, the whole thing makes no scence to me.

Tests are there to identify the best in the lot. Otherwise we can keep coaching everyone and give the tests until everyone passed. Then we don't need any tests. Also failing by 1 point is a failurs. If someone says don't make it by 1 point at least allow 10 points, then there will be some who miss that within 10 point group by 1 point. So we have to cut off the marks somewhere and stick to it. Taking of cut off points someone asks you wheter you can carry a cow and walk 20 feet. You will definitely say no. But if he asks about a new born calf you will say yes. Then he will keep asking about a 1 day old calf and go on and on 2, 3, 4 ,5 day old calf. There should be a day when you can't carry the calf. That is a cut off point whether you like it or not.
