I have to start this saying,,, WOMEN get your mammograms yearly....
I personally had not had one in over 6 years. I began feeling something just last November. I had no job, so no insurance and really was scared.... But when you are in my situation you become very resourceful and will figure things out somehow. I want to tell you that if your in that situation, there is still alot of help for you... American Cancer Foundation Key to Life funded my first mammo. While I was there the doctor wanted to do more pictures, needless to say it worried me...After all the pictures were taken, the doctor came and talked to me. She said that I needed to get a biopsy done. She could do that there in her office. So I scheduled that for a different day. While all this was going on Key to Life continued to fund everything. They were so caring and professional at the same time. The results came back and I had to have another biopsy done to remove the precancerous cells. At this point I used a foundation in my local area. They funded the surgeory for me. I will now have to have mammo's every six months, I am considered high risk. I have medication now that I take as a preventive. And it was ALL funded for me. So please make the effort and find yourself help if you are in my situation, even if your not in my situation get your MAMMOGRAMS!!! It will save your life.
