"Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky" John Lennon wrote these words in a song. To me it speaks volumes. When the song came out people were upset how dare he even think these thoughts. How does the song Imagine make you feel?

Nice song, Lennon was a giant amongst minstrel but a dwarf amongst thinkers. If you are impressed you need to read Swift all the best urban

What if he hadn't been shot down in the prime of his life, what could he have learned and achieved. I will read some swift and enlighten myself.

That is true but some are great humanitarians.

..people were upset for it seemed to them to sorta smack of socialism which is an ideal that does ok at collecting the resources, but doesn't make it so far as distributing the resources.. so not only does the economy crash and fai (who's gonna produce for nothing?) but the people starve.. and when they dissent they seem to disappear.. It's human nature.. big bro will never work out, only balance of power/checks and balances, which isn't perfect, but keeps power out of the hands of the few or just one branch, one gov, etc.

Now if only you'd added that capitalism, is equally bad at distributing resources then you wouldn't also have been making a political point. all the best urban

..makes me feel peaceful.. even tho I disagree with some of his sentiment. Though I do believe there is no hell! That's actually a mistranslation, and should read "the grave" and according to the 2nd law of science all communication breaks down, and the christian message is 2000 years old, so of course it has lost some of its glory and picked up some errors along the way.. Actually just read the gospel of John (not lennon here:) and ya find his ideal is a lot closer to religion than he realized! Religon gets used for politics. It's not religion itself which is undesirable. Of course anything greatly popoular with the people will get infiltrated, used and abused. - As a matter of fact the Great Spirit and Spark of Life likely inspired the words of "Imagine". :)

I think that it's a beautiful song. It makes me cry sometimes to hear it. It would be lovely if the world could be like that - but sadly it never will because people have something inside them that makes them fight and disagree and think they are better than everyone else...

It's only a dream of John Lennon, that's why he entitled it "Imagine" that means it will not happen. See this link: www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Rock-n-Roll/imagine.htm ....

I like the fact that the song inspires peace, but I would not ever want to imagine that there was no Heaven! That would be so depressing. I'm glad that there is a Heaven and that God promises His Home to His children.
