Promoting Wordpress and Blogger Blogs

I've got four blogs that I would like to promote. One is for editorials/opinions, another for randomly generated stories and poems, another for work from home sites, and the last is just a tech tips/personal tech diary. I'd like to see them get more hits. They're roughly a year old, with the work from home only being a few months. I'd like to use adsense, but my main goal is to just get regular readers. I hate to keep updating with no one reading. Just seems like a waste of time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

well i think the best way for your blog to gain regular visitors is to join blog listings and read entries of other bloggers so that they would also be interested in your posts...

How do I join blog listings and where? Do I just do this within Blogger and Wordpress itself? Thanks so much for your quick response!

try to join as many forums as you can, and put your blogs on your sig. You must have unique content also. And lastly join a bloggers group.

This is something that I cover at my blog - http://legbamel.blogspot.com - every once in a while. Join sites like technorati, blogcatalog, and mybloglog. They are networking sites where you can find people who have similar interests and get your links out there for people to see. There are also discussion boards at most of them where you can ask blog-specific questions or read what others are doing. I know they've really helped me to connect with some folks.
