The search for the Truth

I have been skeptical all this time. Lost. Since highschool, I tried to "search" for the right religion. In my country, Christianity is the thing. And I tried one sect after another. One charismatic group after another. I was frustrated. None of them resonates with what I think approximates the "Truth" or even the "truth." I agreed with Marx when he said that "religion is the opium of the people." People goes to church and do the same routine everytime they go to church. Im disappointed that the Bible is subject to various interpretations and to me, none of these even approximates the Truth. Why, there's a big discrepancy in wha they preach and what they practice. That's a big disappointment to me.Like for instance, there are these, priests, who sleeps with women despite their vow of celibacy.
Why is the Truth/truth elusive? Why do i have to experience "emptiness"? Why does it hurt to be human. I have so much questions. And I do not know if I'm nearing the tunnel to at least have a glimpse of the light.

There really is no 'right or wrong' religion if that is what you are seeking to make sense of things using a biblical or 'holy authority' paradigm to explain your position in the greater scheme of things.
But for spirituality to manifest and be nurtured, an organized religious paradigm may not be sufficient in helping to explain the more transpersonal aspects of existence that include but don't hold exclusive too mindfood such as the stories in the bible.
The truth is within you and must not be compromised by peer pressure, social constraints, political reform or even mind-control experimentation-- the media feeding hungry viewers with lots of dis-information . . . But we still seek even if it is inside because that is part of the not-so-very-Inteligent Design. Human beings are born innately curious and bold enough to keep searching and thinking instead of just accepting, yea this is all there is moping about from day to day. Truth is not elusive, the paths each human uses to reach it, might be . . .
The discrepancies are a way to manipulate the masses that choose to believe their salvation is in one holy book. It is a shame as we grow into our unique personhood that these things we learned as children are found to be full of fallacy and deceipt. We cringe and disrespect the very church whose congregationalists thought could change all future followers.
I think you have entered the tunnel and are really seeing the light meant for you to see, and that is a beautiful thing ! Great post !

Erica, I find it difficult to be sure that any enlightenment that I may have had is a real thing. What if everything can just be attributed to the neurochemical processes going on in the brain? Just like when one experienced NDE, they say that there are certain areas in the brain with heightened activity than others. And if any spiritual experiences for that matter have physiological basis, why then, i find it hard to assure myself that my physical constitution and predispositions doesn't fool me. Your reply is great! It made me think. Thank you. Noah girl

Wow, and your response made me think harder about what I wrote, you wrote, and what this all means. The collective consciousness is bored and needs new ideas to keep flourishing . . . it has asked us sentients to contribute a sense of ourselves so others can follow thorugh with their inner selves strengthening the bond communication ties us too.

Yes, the Jungian collective consciousness, sounds like pantheism, monism. A holistic view on things, to which I agree, in a way. But, questions still abound in this head. And I think, Im bound for doom. If there's one thing I can't get away with, it's questioning, and one thing, i don't have, will not have completely, at least at the moment--answers. Noah (-:

Keep on believing people like Marx AND go with what comforts and offers you the deepest satisfaction which religious affiliation does not always provide. 'God' is a Christian concept and just like any other concept, it takes encouragement of the psyche and faith in the heart that makes it so believable but we are human and fallacy comes with being human. So, don't get stuck on finding a specific religion but rather a path to truth and enlightenment that does not involve a middle-person like a priest or deacon to explain your relationship with your higher power.
That is yours and yours alone and feel excited for being freer than those tied into a religion that sets them up with false hope . . .

Thank you Erika; guess you're right. Initiating this discussion months back and reading them now, makes me cringe with embarassment. I guess, I need not "ask."

First of all know that you are not the same in this situation,I'm sure at 100% that many are in this situation on the earth.
I hope God will show you your way to him, because due to my own experience I can tell you that only God will give you respond to all your questions...
I'm from Africa and I'm proud of that,in the History of my PEOPLE,there is too much darkness and nobody can give us respond and light to those shadow only the almighty God.
Because I'm again 100% sure that God is 100% different to religion and don't have anything to do with religion...For me religions have been made for the mass to have something to do.I'm proud of what I am and I'm 100% sure that if my ancestors have had the opportunity to choose none of them will become christian nor muslim.
But thank God today I have this opportunity and I'm proud to be African not muslim nor christian.
Stay POSITIVE in your mind never try to be what you are not and try at 100% to seed this though in the coming generation I'm sure that CHANGES have started and nobody could stop them.
This century is the century of light too much lies will been discover and people will free themselves from conspiracy and the fundamental conspiracy is RELIGION CONSPIRACY.

Sometimes, I think that every thing, all of these are mere illusions. Even the concept of "god." The "god" that we CREATED. You are right that I am not alone this. True, the "mass of men lives life of quiet desperation."
