Do You Ever Wait For Easter Eggs after Movie Credits?

It has become a pretty good gimic used to keep people watching through the end of the credits. Little snippets at the end. They are usually either pretty funny (or at least try to be), or they close some loose end not covered in the film itself.
How many of you even know there was one at the end of Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End?
I usually wait, but my guess is, most movie goers don't know about these little surprises until they read about them on the internet. ;~D

Hello ParaTed2k,
Thank you for enlightening me about this. The only one's I was aware of were at the closing of "Armageddon" and the 'Jackie Chan flicks'. I sure didn't know anyone was doing this as long ago as Ferris Bueller -- thanks Hmmmmm for that tidbit.
It used to be that when we saw a film at the theatre, we'd wait through the credits, just to see if I knew any of the crew. However, we don't go to the movie theatre much these days. We ususally wait for them to come out on DVD, then we just buy it.
Sadly, trying to watch the credits on the tv screen is like trying to see a military jet after you hear the sound, pret' near impossible. Even on a pretty good sized screen, the credits are like font size 0.1 -- ugghh!!! Alright, maybe it is just that my eyes are getting older -- shhhhh, it'll be our little secret.
Anyway, I've gotten out of the habit of watching through the credits. Now I have a reason to keep watching; I'll be egg-hunting!
Hey, does anyone know if there are any eggs at the end of "Pursuit of Happyness"?

Yup, you guys are right about the split screen making it even harder to read. Imagine how disappointing that is to the boom, or the sound mixer.
Hmmmmm, I love IMBD, but I've never checked out the
'Crazy Credits' before. I'll have to make a point of it. Thanks for the tip.
Oh, and since you two are so enlightening: Why are they called 'Easter Eggs'?

That started with video games and "Collector Edition" DVDs (I think). Little suprises you have to hunt for.

Yup! Especially when they do that "split screen" thing during the credits... I mean, why bother? :~D

I usually do wait until the ending credits of a movie to finish before I leave the theater. A lot of times they do have things like outtakes and extra scenes. I never used to stay behind, but one time I was taking a while to leave the theater and saw that there was extra footage during the credits. Since then. I have stayed until the very end of the credit rolls. I do get disappointed when there is nothing at the end of a movie, though.

Yeah, I get a little disappointed too. I wonder how long it will be before they are just expected and we'll complain if there isn't one. ;~D

I didn't use to but when X-Men 3 came out a friend of ours told us to stay until the end. And we were glad that we did. Ever since then we usually stay until the end of the credits. I think it is cool that they have these now a days. I think it does sometimes tie up some loose ends. I know we watched one movie and they showed out takes and bloopers. That was great. THanks for telling us about the pirates.

I usually watch through the credits anyway, even before they start this easter egg thing. Why? Well that is a question I don't know how to answer, because I don't know why myself. Maybe it's because I didn't really want the movie to be over...lol Oh and thanks for spoiling it for me...lol I haven't gone to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End yet. Going to go this weekend.

I wait until the end of the credits on movies that have been known to have Easter Eggs like all three of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and movies by pixar or if I hear about one from friends. Otherwise, I don't usually stay for the credits unless I want to find out about a song or actor in the movie.

I used to be pretty hit and miss about watching the credits... not I usually do, unless I have to be somewhere.

At my nearest cinema, if there are these snippets, the lights stay off until after the snippet is finished. If there are no clips, the lights come on as soon as the credits begin rolling.
So I only stay if the lights are off :D

Oh, I wish our cinema would do that. By the time the easter egg came in Pirates, the lights were already on and the crew were cleaning up the floor!

Yup! I always wait til the end. I always know there's something good at the end of the movie. So that's why I didn't miss the end of Pirates of the Caribbean. I was watching Blades of Glory the other day and it too had a short ending, but it wasn't that funny anyway.. Besides, I always love catching the credits to see the exact names of casts and crew. =)
