So you use a broadband or dialup, i've used both and having just upgraded to broadband i can say its the best. Broadband speed is really a pleasant internet surfing experience. I got a speed of around 256 kbps to 2 mbps. So Whats your internet speed ?

Thats absolutely right, BSNL is the best and everyone in India would be using it. I'm quite satisfied with the speed too but i hope they keep on upgrading speeds.

128 kbps is not that good when you wanna download big files. It may seem good for browsing but even while browsing 128 kbps is very less compared to 2mbps, thats what i'm getting. You should look for better speeds package if you wanna do some serious downloading.

My internet Speed is DSL. I used to have optimum online back when I lived up in the Northern part of the U.S. It was a lot better. I don't like DSL. The internet slows down from time to time and it increases my PING. As a result, I can't always play Counter Strike without it lagging. Most of the time it works fine, but there are times when it shuts off without warning. You know what I have to do next, restart the whole internet. Downloading off the internet slows down my computer too.

I suggest you get a broadband connection. Dialup is really slow, i'm surprised you managed to play counter strike with dialup. Downloading is out of the window if you are on dialup, it can take hours to download small files which broadband can download in a matter of minutes. So moral of the story, use Broadband for downloading.

I am currently using dial up connection and the speed is about 230.4 kbps maximum with a huge amount of nework sharing due to which i get to use about 20% of the total capacity at the nights and only about .5% in the day time. All this is forcing me towards a broad band connection.

Get a broadband connection dude, dialup's aweful. 230.4 kbps thats only for saying, you would never get even half the speed in dial up let alone full speed.

It was like a dream when I first changed my 64kbps dialup for 768kbps flatrate DSL. lol
But on summertime I'm still using 10kbps crap dial up?
Can you imagine how pain it is?

Its really a pleasant experience when you have just upgraded from dialup to broadband. I also sometimes use dial up as my dial up hasn't expired for the month and i got broadband connection as i had applied sometime back. So now i have both but won't be keeping dialup anymore and as i'm writing i'm using dialup, for now i use broadband mostly for downloading.

i use broadband. the speed is 50mbps but ofcourse i won't be getting all of it. as for my experience when downloading i have reached the maximum of 3mbps. and 1mbps for uploading. i hate dial up and never will go back to dial-up again.

I'm sure You mean 5mbps, not 50mbps. Downloading speed of 3mbps is quite good as well, you must be enjoying downloading and so am i.

Ya sure any broadband would be tons better than all dial-ups.
Atleast you will see a marked difference when you actually start using broadband. Its a pleasing difference though when you upgrade from dialup to broadband. I haven't tried satellite broadband, what is it like. Anyway congrats for your satellite broadband coz as you said anything would be better than dial-up.

1+ mbps internet speed is good. Even with 2 mbps we get around 1.5 mbps so 1+ mbps can be deemed as good enough.

I am lucky in that when I first got my computer, 3 years ago and wanted to go on the Internet I opted for Broadband. I didn't know much about the Internet then but I had read that dial up was really slow and that put me off. Obviously I know a bit more now and am glad I came to the right decision. My speed was around 1 until a couple of months ago when I signed my new contracts and upgraded. I was lucky again as they where doing a special offer and I got a faster speed, it is meant to be 8 but the phone lines can't take that at the moment so I get between 2 and 3, once the lines are updated the speed will go up but I don't know when that will be. Also I got a free wireless free hub as well and they now charge me less a month than I had been paying before. My son't girlfriend bought him an xbox 360 and he is able to go onto the Intenet with it because of the wireless free that we have.

Broadband is the best for sure. Its ideal for smooth internet surfing. You made the right decision for sure by opting for broadband straightaway. Now i do a lot of things like downloading and ofcourse earning somewhat in places like mylot so now a broadband connection is necessary for me.

Yeah Dialup is a sure shot waste of money. It takes whole day to download a thing which Broadband can download in a matter of 15 minutes. Broadband is really the best for surfing internet.

Its pleasing to move from dialup to broadband but moving from Broadband to dialup must have been irritating for you. Broadband is the best and i don't wanna get on to dialup.

Thats quite good, my internet speed is around 2mbps. I think high speeds are of much use when you want to do a lot of downloading as well. But high speeds are also be pleasing for normal browsing. Still 768 kbps is good enough speed to be browsing comfortably.

Mine is 23 KBytesps/184 kbitps which is not enough for me to watch live streams, downloads and youtube videos so i want more but the problem is i cannot afford expencive connection so i am paying just 10$ a month for this connection which is based on Lan networking .....recently i have applied for a highspeed connection which is offering cheapest rates in town hopefully it will be comming soon ...........
i think my requirement should be not less then 512kbps to meet my needs ..............

Yeah you need a faster connection to watch live streams and youtube videos, you can download but it will be really slow. To play youtube videos you need around 300kbps- 350kbps, even 256 kbps will do but might studder a few times. I've got a connection with 256kbps - 2mbps but we get 1.5 mbps continuously and sometimes it goes over 2mbps during latenight.
