Firstly, keeping hatred is deadening. Secondly, God reconciles us with Him so that we can be reconciled with others, too, as a forgiven sinner to who is to forgive the other sinner and it is maybe through helping the persons you hate that you will finally be at peace with them.
With an assumption that what you meant above as partner refers to boy/girlfriend, I think the principle above still applies. If you are confirmed that you are to help your ex then go for it. The difference is maybe only whether you are with or without another partner at that moment, likewise with your ex.
If any of you is with a partner then of course you have to deeply consider how your action would affect the current partner(s). I think it is best that we are always open and honest to our partner on things we have to deal with.

hating him should have had a reason that led to a break off ....
so concerning that reason i wont even bother to pay any heed to her needs.

I dont know, it depends on what he needed my help with. Theres a good chance i would make him wait until i answered him for all the bad stuff he put me through

Because I still love him, eventough I ever hated him.
When he really need my help, I would help him and show my real love. It's sweet..
