This really makes me hope my 2 year old will want to potty train soon. http://www.amazon.com/Pampers-Cruisers-Size-Economy-Plus/dp/B000P9S82I/ref=sr_1_1/103-4187352-1054242?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1180550844&sr=8-1 Those are pampers size 7, for 41lbs and up. I am sorry and no offense to anyone, but my 5 year old is just a shade over 41lbs. I cant imagine him wearing diapers still. That is kind of scary. What is even more scary is if you look at the comments below the product. Yikes. Opinions?

I read this comment "Im finally happy they came out with a diaper that fits a person with infantilism (teen baby) great fit and im happy as.." hmmmm, anyways lol I can see it's use for developmentally delayed or handicapped children, but I think now in days parents are just getting lazy. Plus, a lot of working parents don't have time to potty train their child (not lazy) but it's a lot of work. My friend had another baby after her daughter is nearly grown and she told me that when her daughter was a baby they didn't have a size 5 disposable diaper or one for that weight. So either we're all training later than before and/or our children are getting heavier.

WOW! Training is hard work! I am hoping my boy will be trained before daddy comes home from deployment, but it's up to him really. I take him but don't force him if you know what I mean. Yep, that teen baby comment was just um interesting. He was happy to have elmo. LOL

the freaks come out to play on the internet lol. I'm not pressuring my son, I just keep putting him on the potty when we're in the bathroom. He will pee if he's outside, typical boy lol.

LOL outside! Yeah I put him on it too, and he never does anything, but at least he's getting better about sitting on it! Now he seems slightly excited to sit on it sometimes, a big improvement! LOL he's peed in the bathtub, but never outside!

well since they're the cruisers, aren't they made to wear while potty training? AND some kids still have accidents in the night when they're even 7 years old, maybe it would help kids like that? or the real chunky monkey babies? kids are bigger these days it seems...my son just has no butt and a tiny tiny waist. he's 3 now and i think the last size we bought before he was potty trained was a 5 maybe? i can't remember. BUT it's good to know they have that size just in case i guess!!

it's kinda hard to find the right size of diaper, and when to change sizes!! they vary them so much, so when you can barely fasten a diaper, time to move to the next size, but then the next size overlaps, and it's huge! diapers are life savers, but kinda a pain as well!!

Well there are some things to think about. My son is five.. he weights 62lbs. He is not overweight. He is 48" tall and according to the doctor that is ok. Don't remember what he weighed when we were potty training... Also with Autism on the rise those kids have reason to take extra time to train. Still others will just be lazy and delay teaching a perfectly able bodyied/minded child.

My son is 12 and has CP, he still wears diapers, more for security and not being able to tell us when he has to go. Those bigger adult diapers are horrible and Goodnites don't fit anymore, so they are really appreciated. I think that is going to be the people that really need them. I think it is a good thing. Most children will be potty trained before needing them, but the special children that need them because their children have medical problems or are bigger than a normal baby will get good use out of these.

I guess it is a good idea for the kids that have health problems and so on. If the Goodnites don't work then I guess the next best thing would be these size 7 diapers for the older children.

Oh I think that's a great purpose for them then I didnt even think of that. I was mainly thinking of children with no special needs that were not potty trained yet. :) thanks for the response

Oh, don't even tell me that. I am so ready for my son to be potty trained. He is so disinterested. Sometimes he tells his daddy "my turn" after watching him pee but when he tries he can't make it happen. Poor little guy. We praise him anyway for trying.

Wow...that's huge. I'm guessing its for overnights? My son is 27 months old and potty trained okay but if we are going on a long car ride or putting him down for a nap we use diapers because pull-ups tend to confuse him. If he was older I'ld push the issue of nighttime training but since he's only 2 I think he's okay.

The thing that I found most disturbing was the Dr. Barry T. Brazzelton thing and potting training "Forcing them can cause bigger issues during development" Sounds like another Dr Spok. I would like to know how you force a child to be potty trained. If they don't want to go you can't make them go. I think it was easier in my day. We didn't use disposables. They were just coming out. The child flet the wetness and was uncomfortable there fore more willing to start using the potty. I think it was easier then.

I sure hope my son doesn't have to wear diapers past 3. I hope I can get him potty trained fast like his sister. My daughter was in underwear at age two and did really good. I just hope I can get that lucky again because like you, I can't imagine seeing my child in diapers at age 5. I think keeping a child in diapers is only making the situation worse. How is it helping? I didn't even use pullups with my daughter. I just went from diaper to underwear. And I am thinking of doing the same with my son. Now, I know there are big babies out there and they need bigger diapers, but a size 7 is huge! My son is 16 months, he is a chunk-a-chunk and he is in a size 4, I can't imagine him wearing a size 7. But I know there are big babies out there because I know someone who has a baby my sons age and he is already close to 40lbs and in a size 6 diaper and those are even a little tight. I also know kids that are around 5 and still wet the bed and stuff, but I don't think diapers is the answer, but I wont judge the parents that do use diapers for their older kids because I have never been in that situation. :)

I totally agree. I hope your lucky again! My first potty trained at 16 months, and I never got that lucky again :) Next one waited til he was over 3. Even then though, he was wearing training pants (like undies but thicker). The poop is the worst part to clean ,yuck. Anyways, wow a size 7-I still can't imagine!

Oh my! You had your child potty trained at 16 months? Well, let me in on that little secret. My son is 16 months. He is my first son and I heard that potty training is easier with boys. I wonder if this is true? Anyway, maybe I might look into getting a potty chair for him and just see from there. LOL!

Yep! he was amazing, but talked very well so it was easy to get thru to him! My 2 year old has a very limited vocab (he's in speech therapy) so I think that's part of the problem. I put my 16 mo old in regular thick undies, and put plastic pants on top so the pee wouldn't ruin everything, but he learned really fast! my 5 year old could pee consistantly at 2, but witheld poo until over 3, yuck!!!

Well, some kids are just big and don't fit into the size six. My son is a big guy, not an ounce of fat on his body, just built (he was almost 11 pounds when he was born). He'll be three in August, He's already potty trained, but many boys his age are not, so that would be a difficult situation I think. I have a friend, whose daughter is 3, and no where near being potty trained, she is very tall, and a big girl all around, (her parents are BOTH over 6 ft), she wears size 6t, and they have to buy pullups for her, even though she's not interested in potty training. It gets quite expensive. But I do think parents tend to wait too long to potty train, but I don't know, maybe my kid was just easy?

Oh my flippin God--- That was hilarious- I mean the last 2 comments- Yes please potty train your son- I'd hate to see him be 12 and still wearing them because of problems at night- or not want to stop playing and wants to pee in his diaper- What the heck?? But then again this is just a small sampling- there must be demand for these- or pampers would not have made them- How funny!

Three of the four reviews were...umm, odd...so that was interesting. Here's my thought about this. Diaper sizes aren't just based on weight. We have to take into consideration the waist size and the size of the leg openings. And bladder volume. My just turned 2 year old is 30lbs and already in size 6. He has been for several months. Size 5's had gotten too small and didn't hold enough to last even an hour on him. Size 6's are a little snug in the waist and lately aren't lasting much longer than an hour. His pj's are usually wet when he wakes up in the morning even if he gets changed once during the night. For a child like him I think the size 7's would be wonderful. They aren't an option for my son becasue he can't wear Pampers but if Luvs or Huggies start making that size we'll probably have to get them before long. (Pull ups aren't an option either because they aren't designed to hold enough and the biggest size doesn't fit him right anyway)

Why would a 12 year old girl go on there and say that she still wets the bed?? If I had that problem I sure as hell wouldn't go and post about it on the internet!! Crazy!! My son is two and has VERY little interest in going potty on his chair, he is perfectly happy with his diapers, I just hope he isn't still wearig them in a size 7!! That is crazy!! I am 12 and I wear diapers, thanks!! hee hee...that is funny!!!

I'm glad to say I looked at some of the responses, BEFORE responding. I think it's a good idea for kids that need it whether they are special needs or not. There are plenty of kids that are bed wetters who aren't special needs, yet they are too big for the smaller size training pants. Wouldn't it be better for them to have the training pants on rather than hope they won't pee in bed? And for parents of special needs kids this should be considered helpful, because I know I do. Go Pampers for making this bigger size.

I don't see any problem with getting my niece potty trained. We do a gradual introduction to potty training with her instead of the usual jump. My mom is a stay at home mom while my sister and her hubby works. What she does is, as soon as a baby is old enough to sit, she watches for any signs that indicate that the baby wants to poop or pee. She keeps the potty handy. When she sees some sign, she quickly takes off the diaper and puts them on the potty. This way the baby gets used to going to the potty. Ofcourse at before the baby's bedtime or when going on an outing, we put diapers on the baby. We teach the baby to use some simple made up words so that they baby can tell us if she wants to "go". We teach her to use the proper words for poop and pee when she is old enough to start pronouncing them. My mom does this to all of us. She never had any problem with getting us potty trained because we are used to it as soon as we were old enough to sit up.
