Would you want your court case televised?

I often come home to my fiancee watching different court shows. Peoples Court. Divorce Court. Judge Alex. You name she probrally has watched it at one point or another. I have to admit that I do find some of these episodes to be interesting and funny. There was one episode where a lady didn't know which guy was her childs father. When it was all said and done neither of the guys she brought to court were the father after she claimed that no other man could be the father. I got to wondering why anyone would want to embarass themselves like this on national television? Would you embarass yourself on national television? I know that there isn't any way possible I would want to be involved in something like this and have it shown on television.

i almost went on peoples court years ago but changed my mind because i was not gonna make a fool of myself even though i know i would have won the case. I think its ridiculous to air your dirty laundry on a court show. Dont get me wrong because i like watching them but i wouldnt do it.

I would never agree to anything like this as I like my life private where only my family and friends know what is going on in my life . I believe the reason that some people agree to this though is that they are supposed to have there court cases paid for if they are willing to allow it to be televised . I am not sure if this is true or not but this is what I was always told . But even for this reason I still wouldn't want to appear on national television for the whole world to hear about my problems or what was going on in my life as I consider this personal .
Then there are the others that you see on talk shows and such that will say or do just about anything to get themselves on telvesion , even to the point of making up some crazy story that makes them look back to have there fifteen minutes of fame .

I guess what they say is true. There are some people who would do anything on to get on television. Just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I just keep hoping that these people are bad actors. I don't understand how anyone could want to humiliate themselves on nationwide TV like that.
The people must get sometime of monetary compensation to make it worth it to them.

LOL. I like the idea of bad actors. Some of the cases that they present in court makes you wonder if people can really be that stupid.

There is no way you would ever catch me on any of these types of shows. Whether it be the court shows or the talk shows. There is no way I would publicly embarrass myself or my family just so I can be seen on television. I don't think that it is worth it. I don't think that these people really stop to think about what their doing before they do it. I bet that they later regret what they have done. But I have to admit I do enjoy watching these shows.

I would die a thousand deaths before I would willingly consent to that, especially under those circumnstnces. What did she think the paternity test would be inconclusive? How nice for the kid, too, when the mother is recognized and nationally shamed.
I watch these shows every once in awhile because it is a little funny when the judge starts yelling at them, or throws it out right in the beginning because it is just so ludicrous and she doesn't fel like letting them get away with it!

I am sitting here laughing to myself, because I am one of those court show junkies when I have time. I don't think I would go on national tv to broadcast my personal affairs, but.. I can see maybe the benefit.. lets say you get " taken" by some con person, at least you have put a face on the person, and maybe it helps people avoid doing business with them? For me watching others is good enough :)

Those TV "Court" programs have got to be the most salacious, pandering and low-rent forms of entertainment I ever had the displeasure of viewing...
Is it truly "worth the money" to trade what precious Human Dignity you've earned in your Life, for a chance to be on TV?
I don't think so... (unless I get hauled in for telling some of my awful jokes)
It seems to me that with each showing of this drivel, someone-somewhere out there, possibly (maybe even dangerously) loses a little bit more respect for other Humans, everyday...
Along with TV News and so-called "Talk Shows", these programs have found their way onto my "Fasting Regimen"...
I have never been happier, nor have I loved you guys moreso now than ever...
Whereas TV of this "nature" really makes it's money by presenting the deepest, most ignorant and cloddish side of Humanity...
I actually make it a point to go out and meet actual Humans... and you know, most of them ain't all that bad! :)
Excellent Discussion! :)

When I divorced my ex in 2002 I was contacted by Divorce Court. I thought it was a joke! I called the guy back and it was no joke, all expenses paid and $500 to appear. I told this guy no way! I was divorcing my ex because he had molested my daughter and we were going through a messy trial with that, why on earth would I want to face that humiliation on public TV? It takes all sorts, but you have to be pretty desperate to accept an offer to go on these shows. They are entertaining though.
