Do you use a mattress pad under your sheets? I have always used them, because my mother and grandmother did. I have friends that don't use them, and just wondered if it were to preserve the mattress or to provide comfort. If anyone knows, fill me in!

Hello bestis. Glad to see you again. Haven't heard from you for quite some time. I'm living in a hot and humid country. I don't use mattress pad as it tend to make me feel warmer. I'm using orthopedic bed which is good protection for my back.

Hi Charms! I've been so busy between semesters, including taking a mini vacation, here in Ohio. One whole day was spent in the wilderness on hiking trails. The next whole day was spent recuperating from that! haha.
I have heard before that mattress pads do make a person warmer while sleeping...
Thanks for responding! (2 months of school to go...)

Yes, I try to always use a mattress pad under my sheets for added protection to my mattress. You never know when something can happen and stain a clean looking mattress. I used a mattress set I rec'd from my mother, she used it for about 15 yrs. and I used it for about that long, when I gave it away a year or so ago, it still had zero stains on it.

Yes, maybe that's why my mom and grandma used them, to protect the mattress...

I've always used them too. I think it does protect the mattress or at least us while we're sleeping on it. We clean our bedding but how often (if ever) do we clean our mattresses? I don't remember the last time I took the time to vacuum the mattress when I changed the bedding. Now I have to go do it. Yikes.
