a lot of it depends on what state you're in. you might be able to convince your husband that it will be cheaper all around if you two can just agree to divide everything, rather than paying thousands to lawyers. one of the most important factors is how much cash and work you put into the house during the time you lived in it. also, have you paid anything for taxes or morgage or upkeep since moving out? ever cleaned it for him? that counts too.

It all depends on where you live and the laws in your place of residence, you can look up the laws of divorce on line or you can contact an attorney. Maybe you and your husband can work things out before you take it to court. Split everything so there's no issues and just file the divorce papers.

It does depend on where you live. Definitely check with an attorney; they can give you the correct advice. You may be entitled to something for the 10 years you lived with him, but I don't know what percentage it might be. It would be so much cheaper for the two of you to agree on a settlement rather than paying attorneys to work it out or to have a Judge decide it.
