a large sea wave normally produced by sudden movement of the ocean floor caused by an earthquake or volcanic eruption, landslide or mete or impact.Tsunami can be generated when the sea floor abruptly deforms and vertically displaces the overlaying water.tectonic earthquakes area particular kind of earth quake that are associates with the earth's crust deformation.when these earthquakes occur beneath the sea the water above the deformed area is displaced from its equilibrium position waves are formed as the displaced water mass moves under the influence of gravity to regain its equilibrium.say prevention measures to protect from tsunami to friends living near by sea or coastal belt.

I think the better prevention we can do to reduce the impact of a tsunami. Is to build better houses near the sea and coastal belt. But unfortunately, the force and pressure of water might be quite unpredictable. And to build concrete houses, might be more fatal then light materials build houses. And not to forget the consistency of the soil. So there is a lot of factor to be consider, especially when the forces of nature is involved.
